    Overflow - Condensation

Thanks for your comments, that is a diagram of how it is, good or bad  We moved in 5 years ago and the system is now about 25 years old. Yes it would appear that the return from the cylinder has the cold feed tee'd into it. It would have been installed by the council or council...

    overflow from expansion tank

Sorry, this is all getting a bit confused because I have posted in another person's thread, if you could take a look at my other thread which I have started for my issue I would be greatful. It is titled "overflow - condensation" Thanks Andrew

    overflow from expansion tank

This is the problem, the tank is never reaching the overflow pipe level (I have stood and watched it for some time), it just seems to be condensation, I have started another thread about this. The hot water is not dirty at the taps either. How high should the water be in the F&E tank, in...

    overflow from expansion tank

The tank which is filling up is the F&E tank for the central heating. Thanks Andrew

    Overflow - Condensation

Hello, ChrisR, are you out there, could you take a look at the second diagram on this web page, about 3/4 of the way down http://www.deals4homes.co.uk/diyprojects/centralheating.htm This is how the pipes in my system are put together, is this how it should be for a fully pumped system...

    overflow from expansion tank

not really, but the overflowing/condensation is worse when the central heating is on as well. But then there will be more water to expand when it is going as well. Andrew

    overflow from expansion tank

Hello ChrisR, I have tried to start a new thread with a diagram, but no joy. Just seen another post, could it be that the level in the F & E tank is too high. Seen a post which says that the level of water should just be enough to cover the pipe, is this true? Last post in this thread and...

    overflow from expansion tank

Thanks ChrisR, have started another thread, your thoughts would be appreciated from the diagram I have drawn. Thanks Andrew

    overflow from expansion tank

I was trying to make a distinction between the vent pipe which comes direct from the boiler (in a boiler overheat situation) and the pipe which comes into the bottom of the tank from the flow on the HW circuit which feeds the coil. My F & E expansion tank overflow pipe had quite a lot of...

    overflow from expansion tank

I am sorry, but I think that you are all missing the point, it is not the vent pipe which is causing him the problem. It is the pipe which allows the F & E tank to create the pressure in the heating system (the pipe comes of the flow to the HW tank and is the one which allows the re-filling of...

    F & E Tank Stopcock

The question is about the F & E tank for the central heating. It was filling up from below, mainly when the hot water was heating up. It was causing condensation in the tank which was then dripping out of the overflow. Changed the cylinder thermostat as on inspection it was not working...
