    wiring colours for extractor fan

Thanks. I will use your suggestions. Much appreciated. I know it's a minefield, and takes a concerted effort to overcome many years of embeded colour coded awareness to get it right (first time :-) without popping fuses or tripping breakers, let alone the smell of singed hair in the morning...

    wiring colours for extractor fan

    laying cushion floor vinyl

Too late now, judging by the date. Fill any gaps with home made Papier Mache (cheap filler) http://www.papiermache.co.uk/ Allow to dry. Sand down floor boards, popping any protruding nails / screws below level of floor surface. When happy, lay vinyl. Also suggest you lay the complete...

    F & E tank keeps overflowing.

Hello fellow cud choowers. A friend of mine has an F & E tank that keeps overflowing. I have put a stop on the mains inlet to the F & E to isolate the incoming mains supply. despite this, the F & E starts to overflow within about 24 hours. His heating system is a standard primary boiler...

Your ideas please. Shower tray draining into SaniFlo

All I got was a leaflet for a TurboFlush Macerator, basic installation and nothing else apart from installtion kit. Unfortunately not a lot of info. regards, your local moo

    Radiator thermometers

Maplin were doing some point and shoot contactless digital readout thermometers for a fair price a while back. Might be worth investigating to see if any are left. It has a laser target indicator, and reads the temperature froma distance, so all you have to do, is point and shoot the inlets...

Your ideas please. Shower tray draining into SaniFlo

Thanks the link. More info then what came with the manufacturers box. Will look into it when I get more time. Busy with virus removal from customers PC... Looks like my tray is right on the limit for successful drain. regards, the moo

Your ideas please. Shower tray draining into SaniFlo

Yep, that's how it is. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, the shower drain off is a bit slow, and having to paddle in the tray is no fun. Would you believe the twin entry and pan model only came with one inlet adapter. My local tech rep (where I purchased it from at a good discount), included...

Your ideas please. Shower tray draining into SaniFlo

Yes, at least above the internal water level. But that is not what the information diagrams suggest, nor what the local Saniflow tech rep made any comment about when inspecting site, pre-installation. Nor were any comments made in phone calls. read in info leaflets, both to support departments...

Your ideas please. Shower tray draining into SaniFlo

Hello all. Upstairs on-suite with no access to soil stack. Shower tray is raised off floor by 100mm, draining into Saniflow inlet B via low profile trap. Saniflow has built-in one way check valve on each of the two inlets. The other inlet A draining the sink. When shower is used, water...

    GlowWorm Ultima 50 BF problem

Looked at a GlowWorm Ultima 50BF with non working burner. Pilot flame OK Boiler thermostat doesn't seem to be working correctly. When on 0, the boiler fires up. When thermostat control set anywhere between Min <> Max, doesn't fire up. OK main boiler thermostat probably faulty, (after 3...

Potterton Boiler Control 407676 resistor value.

I wouldn't dare to suggest that I was better then others . It's all perception anyway, and if you perceive me to be better or worse, then others, then be my guest :-) All I was trying to get across was a thank you, and information that might be of use to someone somewhere at sometime in the...

Potterton Boiler Control 407676 resistor value.

Thanks for the reply. It's all sorted. The R10 resistor value is 1K ohm, and replaced with 1K, 3 watt wire wound from Maplin, part number W1K. All working for the price of 16p and travel costs. :-) Oh, how I love it when a plan comes together :-) That's called satisfaction. regards,

Potterton Boiler Control 407676 resistor value.

Any one suggest a value for R10, probably 100 ohms? Feeds the voltage dropper arrangement for the PCB low voltage supply. Perhaps some kind person could confirm the value by looking at theirs. or I will have to take a trip round to a favourite friend of mine, and explore her boiler ;-)...

Mix and match imperial to metric chip floorboards?

Got 2 foot wide chipboard floor boards (1974 house), or so I assume. Anyway, the profiles of the metric and imperial boards are slightly different, and the join from one board to the other is not fully together. Not only that, the metric is slightly narrower, and will leave a gap. The only...

low flow rate through new taps

Unfortunately purchased months ago (just got round to commissioning the H & C), and nothing to say what operating pressure, nor given advise from shop. :-( But then again, it's what the wife wanted, and who am I to refuse that? Now I can blame it all on her!! ;-) Nothing to beat standard...

low flow rate through new taps

Hello all. Installed new 22mm pipe gravity fed from loft tank and via DHW tank, to provide H & C through to new mixer tap in on-suite. 22mm pipework reduces to short run of 15mm pipe to isolation valves, then flex braided pipes to tap. Flow rate is disapointing, no doubt due to reduction...

    Optimum condensing temperature?

Just installed a Ravenheat primary condensing boiler myself, and I'm suprised that you were even able to acertain the suggested temperature from their installation manual, as in my view, the manual is "pants". regards,

Gas pipe diameter - new regs

Looks like I will have to get the feed to my Ravenheat condensing CSI Primary boiler rerun in new 22mm then, as it is fed with ~3M of 15mm pipe, with 4 elbows and 2 bends. Nominally range rated ~12 - 24KW. Or do I? regards,
