low flow rate through new taps

Hello all.

Installed new 22mm pipe gravity fed from loft tank and via DHW tank, to provide H & C through to new mixer tap in on-suite. 22mm pipework reduces to short run of 15mm pipe to isolation valves, then flex braided pipes to tap.

Flow rate is disapointing, no doubt due to reduction through isolation valves, and I would suggest the mixer tap is fine for mains pressure system, but not gravity fed, due to reduced pipe feed (approx 10mm)

Any thoughts on this?

Common problem - you got the wrong taps. Do a search on "high pressure taps".

Maybe the taps, but I've seen some flexies with 6mm holes in them that make a joke of the rest of the pipework.

Unfortunately purchased months ago (just got round to commissioning the H & C), and nothing to say what operating pressure, nor given advise from shop. :( But then again, it's what the wife wanted, and who am I to refuse that? Now I can blame it all on her!! ;)

Nothing to beat standard taps and a plain old high power center light in a bathroom, instead of all these pansy stainless/chrome lights and coffee pot tap fitting!!!
