that what i was thinking, the only 2 options i can see are a dual pitched roof or raising the flat roof with a bit of a pitch and covering it with zinc, what makes things worse is that as you can see in the layout below the rear extention isnt the same either side due to the boundry lines so...

the reason i chose zinc is that i guesed it would be cheaper than lead and copper, i also think it looks quite modern

ah, its all making sense now!!! when a window or door frame goes in, is there normaly a standard size that they are resesed in to the brick work?

When closing a cavity at say, some patio doors is is best to get the brickie to close it using brick work and a dpc? the reason i ask this is the last year when i rebuilt my house they just used cavity closers.

do many people put the small battern either side of the rafters to stop the insulation going in to far or do builders normaly just wedge it in>? cheers for all the info, im finaly getting it jon
