I appreciate what you're saying however I am asking for advice on the foundations of which to lay them not on how slippery they'll be in winter.

    Outdoor patio base options

Hi. They are to a degree but not the best for outdoors. However I have found a couple of products to treat them to make them better. To be fair I've walked on them with wet feet indoors and their surprisingly unslippery

    Outdoor patio base options

Hi all. Wanted to get peoples advice on my next project. So I have some bifolds with 600x600x8mm tiles inside and plan on putting the same tiles outside so it flows. Currently there are big standard outdoor slabs not cemented down as pictured. My initial plan was to take all the existing slabs...

I agree but th I agree but the last few batches have been small and stirred by hand. No matter how many times I spread over it or smooth it out or add more etc they come back.

    Air bubbles when filling

It depends, if it's a small amount in a small round paint kettle starting with a rigid stick and finishing with a food spatula to get the powder round the edges and to empty it out into my mud pan. If it's a lot I use a paint stirrer on my drill and then use the spatula. (But from memory it's...

Ps. The emoji I entered was not the one shown on my last message. Lol. Also I am currently using Screwfixes own brand of No Nonsense dry jointing and filling powder.

    Air bubbles when filling

Sorry guys... I tend to waffle and so kept it smaller than usual. So I have walls that are already painted and when I have built a new wall going against it, I I've taped and filled the join. The wall that was already painted previously immediately starts showing bubbles in the filler as I was...

    Air bubbles when filling

New toilet/soil stack to inspection chamber

Hi all. I am installing a new toilet downstairs next to an outside wall. There is a 3 way inspection/access chamber about 1.5 metres outside this point which I plan on going into. It has one inlet in use from the upstairs WC and the other capped off. I plan on going from the toilet out the...

    Building a rendering lip

Thanks for your reply and I like your thinking. I was wondering whether timber could be used in some way. I've got 6 metre bifolds and need to redo about 400mm each side and over the top of the doors. Would you mind elaborating your idea a little so I can picture it better please? Thank you.

    Building a rendering lip

Hi all. Hope everyone's ready for Christmas. So I have a question about something I would like to create. I am looking to render some patches at the rear of my house after having some bifolds fitted. I doubt I will be able to match the finish of the current render so thought I would build a...

    Plasterboarding RSJ

Nice one thank you. I saw that a while ago but forgot about it. I'll do that. What's your thoughts on the RSJ getting cold and getting wet and transferring to the plasterboard? Is it something that happens?

    Plasterboarding RSJ

Hi all. I have just had a hole made in the back of my house, RSJ fitted and bifolds installed. I was going to stick some batons to the underside of the RSJ and then fix plasterboard to that (as I needed to fill a 2inch gap at the top. However, I am now looking at fitting blinds so need that 2...
