I'd guess that this is a Korean engine, manufactured under licence in China and then bolted onto a Chinese copy of a European plate.......very common! Still, it looks like a good piece of kit and should serve you well with the odd service. I doubt if the importers will get back to you though...

A good move to get them blasted! A quality etching primer will be much better than ordinary primer - I use rattle cans for this. John :)

This engine has a timing chain rather than a belt......not the end of the world but much more difficult than just slipping a belt out of the way. I'd do a fair bit of research before jumping in for this one. John :)

Fairly common this one! No harm in using the drill to bring the dust out and it’s unlikely a vacuum cleaner would do this well. Consider using a quality plug such as Fischer - they are tough and splined near the top. Are you sure a 6mm plug is sufficient for this project? John

Believe it or nota good sousing with WD40 or similar where the seat back hooks on to is all that's needed.......you may need to shift some of the seat side trim to get in there though. John :)

Your battery will have a code written on it, particularly mentioning the important A/H or Amp Hour rating. Purchase a similar replacement and the terminals will be in the correct place and also the physical size will be the same. Look after it by using a smart charger or similar - a car battery...

For sure, I'd give that one a try.......if your luck is in, you maybe won't need to adjust the screws anyway. Once they are done, they should stay in adjustment for a good while. John :)

The original standard MS170 carburettor isn't adjustable, other than the idling RPM. It's known for being troublesome.......I'd recommend an adjustable carb from an MS270 - or another Amazon replacement. John :)
