Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

I think I have to admit defeat with this method before I start butchering the wall to bits! I cant get a cable down the existing duct because its already got the 3 wires in and is quite tight. Above and to either side of the back box is just plaster plaster and plaster. I managed to get...

TV Wall Socket Doesn't Appear to be on a RCD Circuit

Thanks for the response. 1. Good idea. Its behind the tv so will only be used for tv and sky box sort of things, but no harm in a sticker. 2. The house sockets circuit is RCD protected yes if you are asking a general question. Obviously this one is on the light circuit. They are next to each...

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Thank you. I've got some long drill bits in the shed so going to see if i can somehow find me a way through the plaster and get a rod up into the loft. If I can't do that them I think im a bit stuck other than maybe drilling a hole in the wall to the side of the switch/plaster dabs and come in...

TV Wall Socket Doesn't Appear to be on a RCD Circuit

Sorry ignore me. Reminder that if you want something doing, do it yourself! My 'helper' was flicking off the wrong switch. Turns out it is connected to the upstairs lighting circuit, so not sockets but I suppose its protected at least

TV Wall Socket Doesn't Appear to be on a RCD Circuit

Haha sorry, this was a very quick and un-thought out post! I'm just worried that there is nothing in place to trip this off should there ever be an issue and want to prevent any fire and/or injury. I will give them all a test now.

TV Wall Socket Doesn't Appear to be on a RCD Circuit

Hi, Moved into a house last month. There is a wall socket behind the TV in the bedroom and i've noticed that the TV stays on if I flick off the 'sockets' or even 'upstairs lights' within the consumer unit downstairs. I intend to flick everything on and off to see if its spurred off another...

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Rather frustrating here. Up in the loft I can see down the cavity between wall and plasterboard, however in line with the wall switch and to either side is where they have dot dabbed the plaster board to the brick wall (its the newer extension side of the house). If i could clear a path I...

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Im going to go up later and take a look. If I can get an extra wire in, whats the answer then in addition to a 3 gang switch? Just link up the new blue to the others and then brown into the new switch and then bridge to one of the others? There is definitely enough slack on the cables for both...

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Can I just clarify your left hand connection at the switch in your solution diagram for the Main light please? The connection from junction box to switch is blue and brown on your diagram, I assume should be brown? and also what do I use for this wire as that's not currently connected at the...

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Thank you, so the connections within the junction box, is that each of the stars in your diagram? So 4 connections?

Two Lights Controlled by a Single Switch

Finally been up the loft to see what I can find. Access still a bit limited but I can see the runs to both lights. The bedroom light connects directly from itself all the way round to the dressing room light, then the dressing room connection runs to the switch. So that explains whats going on...

    Name of this plug/connection?

So managed to find an identical junction box today, swapped it over and all is working ok. Might still look at getting another power supply so the same doesnt happen again

    Name of this plug/connection?

Thanks for this, I will take a look later however when I looked before I struggled to find an AC/AC supply and could only find AC/DC. Assume it cant be supplied with a DC supply? My previous attempts with other DC supplies would suggest not but maybe I was using the wrong thing.

    Towel Radiator Valve Leak

I'd like to replace the valves to be sure but I assume there is a lot of work beforehand to ensure water isnt spraying all over the place whilst they are changed? Hot water is from a cylinder in our home.
