DeWalt DWE7485 table saw quality issues

I think the quality has taken a dive since then. Have you ever laid a straight edge across the table top, or chacked the fence is at 90 degrees? Thing is, it depends on what you use it for. I'm going for not-quite-perfect cabinetry, but if I were to use it as Dewalt intended - a jobsite saw -...

DeWalt DWE7485 table saw quality issues

Yes, I saw that advice. A sled is useful and it can compensate for a not-entirely-level top. It's a proper PITA returning it, getting another and ending up with the same issue. That's what's bugging me. Maybe I should try it out, see what the cuts are like...

DeWalt DWE7485 table saw quality issues

Hi After spending a long long time looking at table saws - you tube videos, reviews, specs etc you know the drill - I settled on a DeWalt 7845 table saw. Cost a fair few quid - £406, not as expensive as some retailers - but with nearly everyone raving about its accuracy, etc, I thought it would...

    Another ring main extension question

Sorry...? Do you mean "How do you know it is a ring as opposed to a spur?" ? Because a) it is the only socket in the room and b) it has two separate cables connected to it (were it a spur you would only have one). So I have assumed it is part of the ring.

    Another ring main extension question

Yes. All the sockets are fed from the ceiling as the house has a concrete floor, so the downstairs ring main actually goes round the ceiling. To remove the socket I would need to pull the wires out of the wall and extend them using something like this...

    Another ring main extension question

Hello I want to extend a ring main in a utility room. Essentially, a kitchen. There is one double socket which is connected to a ring coming down from the ceiling, with the wires chased into a wall. The socket is located directly above a sink (or will be, once the new units are in place) and I...

(Another) question about shower pump brands

Thanks for all your replies, I will follow Exedon and muggles advice and get the ST Monsoon Universal. It costs £150 more than the Salamander though... but in this case, worth it.

(Another) question about shower pump brands

Hello I looked at some old threads regarding recommended shower pumps and they seem to agree on Salamander or Stuart Turner. So, off to Screwfix.co.uk to have a look, and I see the reviews for Salamander are pretty varied, with pumps failing multiple times in short order, and Salamander...

    Hot water cylinder losing heat

Now that's a good point I hadn't considered. I have insulated the header tank, though, but it's 1" thick Kingspan only. Doesn't the hot water convect to (and stay at) the top of the tank, though? The refill pipe's at the bottom - how easily does it mix with the hot water?

    Hot water cylinder losing heat

    No leaks, but good thought.

    Hot water cylinder losing heat

Hi! My first post here. I have a vented hot water tank, it's one of these - Gledhill SE26X18IND - it appears to be good quality. It is heated by an oil boiler with central heating in a Y system configuration. The pump, zone valve and timer / controller are new. After running the HW heating in...
