Can you fit a timer to a shower pump?

Not sure if this is a silly question but here goes.................. Just had a new bathroom fitted. ST pump fitted in airing cupboard for shower and taps. Pump noise isn't too bad considering but of course we have now realised that if the taps are run during the night it sounds loud...

    Bathroom lighting help please

Have chosen Astro downlights Vancouver or Mint x 3 for new, small, bathroom (70's style bath/loo knocked together). Can someone advise re 12v or 240v please? We would like to use a dimmer switch and I like the idea of a crisp white light (don't like yellowy hue) but know nothing about the...

Will probably go for the Trevi/ST combo even though they are ugly! My plumber probably thinks I'm ugly too! Thanks for all help

    Trevi or Aqualisa?

Thanks for the comments. Food for thought certainly. Part of me wants to go for the solid Trevi/ST combo but part is hankering after an up to date digital with all the gizmos for our brand new bathroom! Seems to me, just as long as you don't get a Friday night one the Aqualisa Digital Quartz...

    Underfloor heating - warm enough?

Thanks for your reply. We are having old floorboards replaced with ply, then underfloor heating and ceramic tiles on top - should we fit insulation boards as well? Thanks for your time

    Underfloor heating - warm enough?

Would 1,600 btus be sufficient to heat a bathroom approx 2m sq with 2 windows? This is a combination of small heated towel rail (175W) and underfloor heating over roughly half the room area. Thank you for any help or advice

    Trevi or Aqualisa?

Please may I have some advice re which pumped shower to go for? Currently trying to choose between the Trevi therm with a Stuart Turner pump(very ugly says my plumber!) or an Aqualisa Aquavalve thermo 700 with the pump that's in their brochure. Sorry can't remember name. I need a strong shower...

Bath taps, basin taps and cistern running slow

Taps in kitchen work OK and stopcock seems OK. It is a new one - which 'jack of all trades' fitted couple of weeks before the new taps, due to a leak under the sink. It's all very strange and irritating. I appreciate the time you've spent on this already, but, any other thoughts? Thanks

Bath taps, basin taps and cistern running slow

It wasn't fully open but even now that I've opened it a bit more, things are still the same. I think the other valve must be redundant - couldn't move it anyway! I wondered if the taps were wrong for our pressure but then that wouldn't affect the loo would it?

Bath taps, basin taps and cistern running slow

I know he shut something off in the airing cupboard when he was working but I'm not sure which of the valves to touch. There are two red ones. One is on a cold pipe which runs next to a hot one which is part of the current central heating pipework and the other is one of another two running...

Bath taps, basin taps and cistern running slow

Both hot and cold taps run slow. We have an sealed system Ideal Icos condensing boiler in the loft. Didn't have a problem before he fitted the taps. The problem with the loo cistern not filling didn't happen before either, not even when someone had just flushed.

Bath taps, basin taps and cistern running slow

Since we had new taps fitted in our bathroom the water seems to be slow running filling the toilet cistern and flowing from taps to fill bath and wash basin. Any ideas why? The guy who did the job is a 'jack of all trades' kind of guy and to be honest he didn't do a very good job of fitting the...

Lincoln LGD 25/35 warm air unit

J & S say they have two types of filter I can cut to size - foam or material. I'm not sure which I want. I can only describe the original filter as a very lightweight synthetic material which you can rinse out gently under the tap to clean it without it falling to bits, but is it foam or...

Lincoln LGD 25/35 warm air unit

I emailed Johnson & Starley and they say they do not have spares for Lincoln. And yes, Mum's unit was fitted in 1974! I have emailed back to ask if they do sheets which I can cut to size - presumably other units have similar types of filter??

Warm air heating - needs new air filter Where to find??

Apologies for not giving the make and model of warm air unit but I just wanted a nudge in the right direction for a company who may deal with warm air heating parts. I had already searched on the internet. Anyway.................. I now have the problem of finding out who took over Lincoln...

Warm air heating - needs new air filter Where to find??

Can someone tell me where I can get hold of a filter for my Mother's warm air heating unit please? I understand that I may have to cut one to size from a larger square. Any suggestions of where to source would be a great help. The last 2 plumbing/heating chaps who have serviced the unit haven't...

    Faulty microswitch in valve?

    Faulty microswitch in valve?

I think I am confusing things here. The boiler is in the loft so I can't see what's going on. I have always thought (bear in mind I know nothing about central heating systems) that what I can here is just the pump running/water circulating, but maybe it is the boiler. All I know for sure is that...
