I have 3 storage heaters (originally 4 but took one out in living room and use electric fire instead as took up too much space and only heated room in the day when we were out). I also also have a tank with immersion heater. We are on E7. We only use storage heaters from about Sept/Oct to...

    Meter to be changed...options?

Hi Guys I've had a letter from Eon saying they have to replace my meter because it's past it's life span. My question is, should I ask if the can put an isolator in so I can get work done on the consumer unit? (will need it changed when storage heaters come out and central heating goes in...

    Neon Screwdriver

I am relativley new to these boards & to DIY and over the last couple of months I have been reading the top notch advice given by seasoned posters. One of the things I have noticed is the repeated recommendation to NOT use a neon screwdriver to test a circuit is dead before working on it...

    The usual shed installation question

I'm not a sparky..yet but think you need some saddles supporting the conduit at regualr spaces (not sure on the distance reqd between each one). Also on your first pic I think you need to support your swa (cleat etc) But looks pretty neat for me, might be worried about the shower mounting...

How can I become a DIY electrician?

IMHO for the prices of the relevent courses etc you'd be better making friends with a local sparky. Dont mean to be negative but was hoping to start a 36week city & guilds course at night school and that was £900 then there's another 36 week course after that also costing £900ish and then...
