    insulation over wires or not?

Insulating wasn't going to be a factor but things change, hence I'm asking the question here.

    insulation over wires or not?

I have had my shed wired by a spark but now I want to insulate it. Construction is wood panels covered entirely on the outside with roofing felt (a temporary waterproofing measure for the winter as I had a lad of the stuff hanging around. In the summer I'll be cladding over this with shiplap...

    New consumer unit

That didn't really answer the question very constructively. Yeah I had to look up what TT meant. So I'm not familiar with all the abbreviations for which I appologise. My question was about if TT would cause problems in running armoured cable to an outhouse about 12 mtr away? Anyone who...

The supply to the house is TT! Does this then cause a problem taking the earth to the outhouse?

    Running armoured cable

Appologies for my last post, outbuilding costs and regs. Wasn't asking for quote or prices, it wasn't too clear, was asking if anyone knows the costs involved in notifying BC. Have found that info now anyway. The main point was about running armoured cable... from the house there is a 4...

    Outbuilding costs and regs

My spanking new wood built workshop takes pride of place in the garden... it's adjacent to the house with just a decked area between. I now need to run power! I know i need to inform local authorities but does anyone know what sort of costs are involved? I'll do the installation myself but am...

    New consumer unit

The earth leakage has an access at the top for the incoming terminals which isn't sealed, and an access at the bottom for the cu side which has a wire seal through the screw. The attached pic... bottom left = meter, bottom right = radio teleswitch (any suggestions what this is for just out of...

    New consumer unit

The isolation is a circuit breaker that has a wire seal on it so I guess I can't open it.

    New consumer unit

I have a new consumer unit in place, various circuits added. All that's left is to switch existing circuits from the old unit to the new one. There is a breaker installed after the meter so I can isolate the mains but the tails are way too short to reach the new cunsumer unit, even if it were...
