My CH has a problem and the boiler is switched off as is the immersion.Despite this there is something in the airing cupboard that is running and I don`t know what it might be and why. If I have no CH boiler or immersion switched on what would still continue to run constantly?

Update: Isn`t it just typical that when the engineer turns up the heating is working as though nothing ever happened! The engineer couldn`t find a problem but just as he was about to leave it went off and wouldn`t re-start. It seems it could be the PCB so he is going to replace it on...

This is awful. I hope the guys on here will help out because its the type of person that you have unfortunately employed that drags the whole industry down.

I had that problem previously. Just needs to be `flicked` to see if that resolves it. I have tried that this time round but to no avail.

Not at all happy with their response but, of course, they have sited the extreme weather conditions as their excuse! Ref the G rating on this boiler. I didn`t think it had a permanent pilot light but it is over 15 years old.

Which pump? Given that it hadn`t fired up since Friday would the HE not have cooled sufficiently since then? Cheers

This sounds right as I recently had the same problem which was resolved by replacing the fan. I know this is of no use to the OP who did request advice some 4 years ago!! I came upon this thread as I was searching on the Ideal Classic NF40 to see if it is G rated.

Why is it a scam? The government are offering £400 back. Are you suggesting that the supplier will add £400 to the install or that the costs of recuperating the money paid for the boiler and install would outweigh the refund given? Please explain. Thanks.
