I tested with a multi meter and had no problems, can they be faulty and still send a false signal? I have a spare which I know works as it was a boiler stripped from a working system well serviced that was replaced due to a jacket failing on the water tank.

Finally got around to changing the pump, I even bought a pressure tester to make sure. It's still not firing, changed the batteries in the wireless as they were flashing. Put a fresh nozzle on it before hand but may well go back to changing that with a known new one. You can hear a difference...

I've had a tank sponge in, never had any of much in it bar fuel.

What filter in the pump where is it? Mines a Worcester system. Would need to do some research on how you change the filters externally without loosing your oil :D

There nearly 30 years old and on the property when I bought it, think it's safe to say they no longer are trading. The ones in question are blown a little in the corner of the main pain, so it's probably just getting on with it myself as a short-term fix. Thanks though.

Surely more material, in general, will offer more resistance to water/wind especially from a thermal point of view. I guess I will have to measure the gasket more closely and make a choice and do a bit of trial and error. At least it's not a generally expensive material to play around with.
