    Should be but keep an eye on it as the seal could have gone. Also if you have a loop feed system you need to check the pressure as you have been losing water out of your system so you need to top it up should read between 1 to 2 on the meter.     When you say small pipe are you talking about the drain off, usually brass about inch long? If so it just needs tightening via the square nut on the end. If not give a little more information.

    i have a pump that is clagged up with a greasy residue, i know this is due to running a system without being flushed. what i was wondering is can i free the pump by using a degreaser? if so any ideas what to use? i think the motor is still ok. the pump is a grudfos super 15/60.

    I am not sure if it is the same problem as I had. But try puttiing your hand on the pump to see if it is getting hot. Also another tip is to put a screw driver tip on the casing of the pump and your ear to the handle this is an easy way to check if the motor is still running but the pump is not...
