Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

I found this, gives the performance of each Fischer item: http://www.fischer.co.uk/PortalData/10/Resources/support/sales-documents/documents/Plasterboard_Fixings_Guide_webversion.pdf Looks like a meta expanding anchor is good for 20kg. With the weight distribution I should be good, I think.

Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

The the samsung factory provided solution, so that side doesn't worry me. Mostly I want to make sure the plaster doesn't disintegrate and the bolts come out...

Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

As per title, it's kingspan insulation, so no toggle bolts. Looks like it's expanding anchor only. Will two of these have more than enough margin of safety?

Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

No swivel. There are two screws, that mount two disks on the wall. A Metal wires hangs between the two disks and then the TV has two small wheels that sit ontop of the wire.

Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

I found this website, do these numbers look accurate? Also won't over time the wall become less strong, so it's best not to get anywhere near limits? http://www.todayshomeowner.com/testing-wall-anchors-and-picture-hangers/ They are claiming a metal threaded anchor can do 60kg? Does this seem...

Mount TV on double layered Kingspan insulation+plasterboard

I recently had a kitchen extension done that has a double layer of kingspan insulation on the inside. The other Kingspan is one of those combined insulation and plasterboard ones. I need to mount a 20kg TV on this. There are two screws, so that should average to 10kg per screw. But I want to...

Worcester 30 CDi Drain Point - How to use?

ok I see what you mean. I use one isolator to keep the mains shut off. I then undo the pipe at the other isolated, and then release that isolator to drain. One last Q, is the "drain point", in the picture on page 10, not actually a drain point? See like this is what I should be using?

Worcester 30 CDi Drain Point - How to use?

Boiler cover is already off. It looks like page 10 in this pdf (color photo). The drain point is on the right. I can see the drain point, I just can't see anything I can turn, to get the water to actually drain. http://www.buildbase.co.uk/link/1/h036168_29702_t.pdf The installer rigged it up to...

Worcester 30 CDi Drain Point - How to use?

Worcester 30 CDi Drain Point - How to use?

There use to be drain points on my radiators. When the last plumber changed my radiators, he replaced them with valves that did not have a drain point. I'm removing some radiators, for the painters and decorators. I cannot see anything else in the basement (where the boiler is). Can I not use...

Worcester 30 CDi Drain Point - How to use?

My radiators don't have a drain point. Looking at my Worcester 30 CDi the manual says it has a "drain point", although doesn't say how to use it. I cannot see any key or anything else I can turn. This picture looks just like the drain valve I can see...

Convert Cottage Dormer to full Mansard

Let's say a from scratch mansard conversion costs 35K. How much would it cost to convey my current cottage loft extensions to a mansard. For instance I already have stairs, so won't need that - which saves around 1K or so (I think). What about the additional supports etc that would have been put...

Convert Cottage Dormer to full Mansard

We already have a small cottage dormer loft extension. I've been wondering if it's worth while getting a full Mansard. It looks like we'd gain an extra 3 feet in width for the widest part, and obviously the area to the left and right of the cottage dormer too. Do we save much money on a mansard...

Homelux Membrane Single Bubble - Do I Make my Tiler Redo?

I should add the tiles are 30x60. The tiler is insistent that a bubble that smaller, won't matter.

Homelux Membrane Single Bubble - Do I Make my Tiler Redo?

We are having a recess shower fitted. Tiles are only on the walls. The tiler is using the Homelux membrane. I've noticed one single bubble in the membrane. It's 1inch wide, 2 inches long - about chest height. Should I make him redo that patch, or is this ok? I don't want to be over...

Aquastrap for recess shower tray with Schluter-Kerdi on wall

My builder is fitting an 1400x900 recess (3 surrounding walls) shower tray. The walls will be tiled, but we will not tile over the shower tray. As I'm worried about leaks I've asked the builder to install an Aquastrap - although he feels this isn't necessary, compered to using a simple bit of...
