Thanks for the replies the tap is still in good condition and when I take it apart it looks fairly free of limescale but I have never put any lubricant on it just cleaned it in the past so will try some silicone grease

Is there a reason why the hot water tap stiffens up and the cold tap always seems ok is it normally a worn washer or does it just need lubricating or do they just tend to wear out quicker than a cold water tap. I have cleaned it out in the past but it always goes stiff after a couple of months...

ROCKS1 Thanks for the info, I have checked this and the solenoid on the cold water inlet going to the condenser does not seem to be working as not letting any water through. although the other solenoid is still working OK so I would assume a new unit is required. Thanks once again

Hi when I put the washer/dryer on a drying cycle it make a loud groaning noise, the dryer fan motor turns ok but just seems very noisy am I to assume it is faulty even though it still turns. I have cleaned out the fan it went quite for a while but now is as noisy as ever.
