24v transformer to fit Hager CU

Three points, one some CU used half a din rail, and it needs the unit to also connect to a bus bar. The hole in the lid does not match all makes. And the position of the bus bar to the DIN rail is not to a standard. With half DIN rail, a third party transformer is a non-starter, with the bus bar...

    Willis Heating System

Betamax and VHS there was a third V2000 where you turned the tape over, Philips special. I am also not sure, I do know if not enough room it could cause the whole of the cold tank to heat up, once it started. It seems the cut-out could be combined with the thermostat, or it could be...

    Willis Heating System

There was a council house in Somerset where the gap was not enough, and when the thermostat stuck and the hot water circulated into a thermal plastic tank which failed and killed a baby. This is why there is a minium gap. I think thermal plastic heater tanks should be banned, but they hope a...

    Willis Heating System

But we are talking about water over 4°C. V2000 was better than both. However, I see your point, you buy a tank with boss already in place for an immersion heater, why mess around putting one outside it even if it works better, It is not the £43 for the unit, it is the cost of the...

24v transformer to fit Hager CU

Be it ISO, ASA, BSW, DIN or any other national or internarial standard, there seems to be some problem in working out what is or is not permitted, I have got some 6 inch 10 mm bolts, the problem is part of the device sticks out a hole in the consumer unit which is not in a standard place, hole...

Bosch condenser dryer not drying after support wheels fixed

Some do. This was also my thought, we seem to assume all condenser driers work like our own, but water can be condensed out using room air, water, or refrigeration and putting the number into google it seems it is using the last method. The problem, be it any type of refrigeration unit, AC...

    Electric company wont connect me

That is also my thoughts, I would get upset if I found my energy supplier was talking to someone else about my property.

    Adding UFH to Y-plan system

I don't like Nest as it does not connect to the TRV heads. However, the TRV head is in essence a motorised valve once an electronic head is fitted. I have in some ways made a mistake myself, I have a C Plan with two motorised valves and two pumps, and it could have in hindsight have used a...

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

I will try a 6, 10, 16 mm terminal on wire and see which fits.

    That would make more sense.

Mark/Space control with central heating thermostats?

I know pre-modulating boilers better quality thermostats used mark/space ratios to stop it over shooting, The instructions for the thermostat shown, said how it would start switching off and on before the set point slowly decreasing the on time reducing the hysteresis. This messed up a...

    Honeywell T40 wiring

I agree, it does seem odd to rate it 5 watts, that does seem rather low for the relay contacts, and high for power used. At least for digital (on/off) thermostats, would expect that for analogue (up/down) thermostats.

Is it worth altering the water temperature dial spring/autumn to winter?

With an on/off boiler, that is not an option, boiler need to option to modulate to do that. I did an experiment earlier, I put the heating up 0.5°C and watched to see how long it took, clearly the thermostat turned the boiler off before the flame icon went out, as it showed still heating, but...

24v transformer to fit Hager CU

I have an adaptable box with Oct base relays for my central heating, does that also not comply? As soon as any non-approved device is put into a consumer unit, it changes name and becomes a distribution unit. And technically it needs to be under the control of an instructed or skilled person...

    Willis Heating System

I would not think the water would cool down enough to turn on the immersion heater for those two hours? It does raise the question about circulating central heating water temperature vs immersion heater water temperature. I turn off the off-peak use to heat DHW in the winter, my controller...

Is it worth altering the water temperature dial spring/autumn to winter?

I have read about weather compensation, and it seems it alters the circulating water temperature, which I can see helps with a modern boiler. But what about with a non condensing, non modulating boiler? There is a large dial on the front to adjust the circulating water temperature, why? I see...

24v transformer to fit Hager CU

Yes, I agree, I have also from time to time exceeded the speed limit, but that does not make it OK to tell others to do the same.

24v transformer to fit Hager CU

It seems the power supply for the Hager CU Product Dimensions ‎85 mm (H) x 70 mm (W) x 58 mm (D) so 4 module wide, Part Number ST314 so you will need an independent enclosure. I do agree one can break the rules and use a third party transformer, the ST301 is two module wide, but 8 and 12 volt.

    Willis Heating System

Your English is better than mine, you put it spot on. But it will mix, so hot water at the bottom of the tank will warm water on its way up, so the whole tank warms together, but putting separate it is not mixing on the way up. I remember the gas geezers on the wall, they did work, but today...

    Undersink instantaneous water heaters

It says on the picture, 10 litres. I just picked on at random. Think the one we used was 7 litres, which was ample for handwashing.
