    Samsung WW90J6610CXEU

It's 9 years old and just had a rough estimate from a repair guy who is pretty certain it is the power module. He has quoted £230. 50% rule and all that, would you bin it? Seems a shame, but then it's not a spring chicken any more. Having said that, it's half the age of its predecessor.

The place we hired on holiday in 1974 near Padstow didn't have any electricity... Have you got it now?

    Samsung WW90J6610CXEU

This must be about 10 years old now. Went to put it on one day and it was dead. Checked the socket, fuse and lead continuity, as it was squashed where it was pushed back. They are all fine, so it's not a simple supply issue. Any ideas, before I call someone?

    Best bank accounts.

We moved from Santander to First Direct a good few years ago, maybe 10 even. They effed up the transfer of Mrs S's life insurance, so of course the payments stopped and everything was lost. First Direct: Shrug...

    BT Phone Box

Went swimming today. Without my lad. It's still not a euphemism... The phone box has been ripped out. Can't see there being many left now. In urban areas, anyway.

    Boiler Conundrum

I wasn't there, but it was labelled boiler, and the bungalow was rewired when they moved in, so I think it will be a dedicated circuit. My guess would be a 6 or 16A type B.

    Boiler Conundrum

Which is what I said to the PiLs... The fuse blew for a reason. Without investigation and rectification, surely there is a risk it will happen again? The fuse has been disposed of by the maintenance guy.

    Boiler Conundrum

Parents in law rang the other day with a query. Their boiler had gone off overnight, and following my previous advice, they discovered the boiler MCB had tripped, so they reset it. There was still no power, so I talked to them on the phone and said I could point them towards changing the 3A...
