    Lighting Problem? I'm Puzzled? (CONT.)

I have my girlfriend on look out to tell me when the powers still on, I'm the kind of person that forgets ever now and then so she's a help there. Yes I do want the lights to be on at the same time and off at the same time. I will try and the red wire tip and get back to you in the morning...

    Lighting Problem? I'm Puzzled? (CONT.)

I took all the wires out of the first light yesterday and the second light did not work, so that suggests it is a 'slave' to the first one. So if I find the red wire thats going to the second light and stick in in with the switch black? I'll try that tonight. thanks. I take it that I can...

    Lighting Problem? I'm Puzzled? (CONT.)

I have two seperate switches controlling these lights. one in the kitchen and one in the living room(that also shares a face plate with the LR light) both these switches work fine in that they both switch on/off the first light. the second light however remains one perminantely whether the...

Original Topic - http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29844 I have taken some pictures of the situation as it stands. ABOVE - This light works as expected (on/off with switch). ABOVE - This is the light fitting that stays on perminantely. I can't see any obvious...

    Lighitng problem? I'm puzzled.

is it not odd that the swich, switches on/off one of the lights though? surely it is not faulty? Am I wrong to assume this? and also, will both switches be broke then? as the light is on when both switches are in the off positioin?

    Lighitng problem? I'm puzzled.

It was just a routine pull away from the wall? I would have thought that a fault with one of the switches (not touched the other at all PROMISE) woulde have effected both lights? Am I wrong? and also would a loose wire in one switch effect the other switch also? I'm excited now...

    Lighitng problem? I'm puzzled.

I do not own a mutlimeter? I suppose I could buy one, I don't really know what I'm checking for once I get one though? I don't know what you mean by the old fitting incorporating a switch? they both worked from the wall switches fine before I put the two new ones in, now I have one working...

    Lighitng problem? I'm puzzled.

they're both new fittings. I would have thought if I had not done the one with 9 wires properly it wouldn't work and fuses would have blown. But I can't see where I could have gone wrong on the other its just like for like? It would blow a fuse if had got switch live (black) mixed with...

    Lighitng problem? I'm puzzled.

I have two lights and two switches in the kitchen. One light had just three wires (earth, live, neutral) and the other had 9 wires. I've connected a new set of lights to each (I think correctly) and now have the following problem... The light with three wires is constantly on, whether...
