Appreciate all the input folks. It's been very educational.
For the time being we'll take the easiest option and order the straight replacement bulbs. However, we'll look to get quotations for
Many thanks.
Same as my car will need updating at some point, however, as long as it's cheaply serviceable I wouldn't consider scrapping it immediately a headlight needed replacing ;)
These are straightforward downlights for bathroom and kitchen. I'm not too concerned about exactly replicating the lighting effect, I simply want the least faff so simple swap-out, bulb for bulb will suffice.
Thanks for the response.
Though I'm capable with most DIY disciplines, when it comes to electrics I'ma dunce.
So, up in the loft there'll be a transformer connected to each unit so I need to check their specifcation to ensure compatibility with proposed swap-out units like this.
Morning all
Need to replace a number of these units in the kitchen and bathroom.
Does anyone know of any LED units which can be straight swapped or suggest anything else to use.
So, after multiple heating, spraying with PlusGas and cooling cycles I've so far only managed to break off the handle.
I suppose I'll keep going with the heat, spray, cooling cycle and try to turn with stilsons...or give up and get a pro in.

My heat gun's a Wagner Furno 750, 50 - 630 centigrade.
Was thinking of buying a cheap car wheel wrench, cutting a slot in the end to get a purchase on the tap and trying to turn it through that good, balanced leverage.
Not urgent in any way but cannot unseize this stop tap.
I loosened the packing box and sprayed WD 40. Heated it up with a heat gun and sprayed some more. Repeated a number of times but can't get it to turn at all.
Any tips please?
Here's another one...question that is.
If I needed to replace one of the cartridges is it the case that I just shut off the water supply, unscrew the cartridge and screw in the new one?
