    Johnson & Starley Room Stat

You people have already helped me repair our shower and fit a new heating element to our oven since we bought our first house 2 years ago. Now I have another problem :D I've just tried our central heating system (Johnson & Starley J32 E-T) to make sure it's working ready for the imminent cold...

This is a thermistastat as opposed to a conventional room stat it does not work on voltage as such ,but on a veriable resistance (sensed by control panel on heater) as room heats and cools. If you contact johnson starley at northampton they will tell you if one with actual temp on it is avialable

Hi, I have a Johnson&Statley J50 MAF heater which has started misbehaving lately. In short the issue is that when I turn the thermista-stat all the way up the main burner only stays on for just over a minute and goes off for 2 and half minutes and then cycles back ON again and so on…...

Johnson and Starley Warm Air CH

Have the above fitted and is working ok, BUT think that the thermostat needs replacing as one day to get a set temp needs setting 5 and other days 6 ( no temp shown) The wiring to the stat from the warm air unit, where the timer it situated, is two wires with a voltage in the region of 7.4v...

Your help required ... Johnson & Starley Economaire 65 not heating

I don’t work on warm air units (wau) but we’d need some more information please. I’m not au fait with these, but I don’t know why the gas valve was replaced. Anyway, do you know what happens in the sequence? Eg, is the heating turned on and no response or does it do a little more? I’d be...

Really appreciate help with these central heating quotes

Looking to replace warm air heating in our 70's 4 bed detached house. Water feeds to one bathroom, cloakroom, kitchen and utility room. Johnson & Starley say they can supply parts for our boiler for another 10 years but we are renovating the house and think we should bring the heating 'up to...

johnson and starley air heating with rads?

He was? He was rather confused Blocking a return air path and reducing flow are two different things. I reiterate, return air is separate to combustion air which he was clearly implying and you are are stating. If the combustion is unaffected, reducing or blocking return air will mean the...

    Modairflow thermostat

It does both. Originally warm air heating thermostats did simply switch the burner off, then the fan ran for a couple of minutes to cool the heater before that stopped too. In practice, the occupants could feel hot when the warm air was blowing and then cold when it switched off. As an effort...

Ideal Vogue combi. Range rating, or the lack of ......

As you can imagine, Vulcan, I'm extremely grateful you took the trouble to come back after, what might have been thought, a bit of a negative reply to your post (#18) some way back now. You've listed ten points. 1. That's an easy onr to answer. I can see the figure given for each boiler. 2...
