Morning all, Apologies for all the posts. Wanting to replace a old remote panel with a new Texexcom one but confused (as usual) how to wire it. Any help very grateful.

My first alarm install so bear with me. Replacing all my ancient PIRs with Texecom ones but as usual am confused by the wiring. Most of the wiring on the existing PIRs are the same, except one. How should I wire in the new ones? What goes where?

So ended up buying Texecom. £340 for the lot so will no doubt be back on here when I struggle to get the thing wired up! Thanks all for the advice.

I guess another question would be how do I easily trace the wires. The current box is powered down with all the cables coming in, how best to find out with cables link to say PIRs or Remote panels?

Evening all, Looking to replace my 25yr wired alarm system myself. Would you recommend Texecom premier or Scantronic and I'll probably need an remote expander to replace the one on the first floor. Any tips on installing and pitfalls very welcomed. Brewtime seem to do good prices.

So how do I wore in my floodlights? If the cables present are 3 core and bare earth and the floodlight just has a live, netural and earth? Or is it time to call an electrician based on the morons installation?

Thanks all for your help and quick responses. So the floodlight is one of a number of lights controlled by the PIR. Iggifer your right that there is a switch on the wall that can override the PIR and turn all the lights on. When the switch is turned off the lights stay on for a little bit and...

Sadly this is the problem. I couldn't access the old floodlight wiring as it was rusted solid. As for the wires in the PIR I haven't got a pic of these until I'm back at the property in a few days. What could my wiring options be?

Thanks Sparky. There are a number of panic alarms, door sensors and PIRs. I've also found second box upstairs that seems to be like an extension with more connections. Would a Honeywell G4 cope?
