as per usual, I have the most random question... When we removed the awful carpet in our 1930s house I have noticed a nice "square mark" on the wooden flooring...as if someone painted around a rug. I have just spotted it as well on "under the hammer". Please enlighten me :)

Ahhh,thank you! I should have perhaps mentioned that we will put on wallrock KV600 (insulation material) and they specifically mention to "size" the wall with PVA or flake adhesive (whatever that is).
