Filler with as good a finish as a plaster skim

sorry @opps ....are you saying there is no need to PVA at all then ? I was just assuming that it would best to apply a diluted PVA mix to at least the cut plasterboard edges, and perhaps the plasterboard fill-in disc to which the Tx110 will adhere to I've got some PVA so its no issue to spend a...

Filler with as good a finish as a plaster skim

Thanks again @opps Final question….the plasterboard circles that will fill the majority of each hole…should I PVA it and either let it dry or keep tacky, before using the tx110 ?

Filler with as good a finish as a plaster skim

Thanks again @opps The tx110 gets bucket loads of good reviews and no, no one will be getting near it as as I say I’m filling downlighter holes in the ceiling and a flue hole that’s about 7ft in the air So you don’t think a 150mm diameter hole presents any issues if I keep the depth sensible...

Filler with as good a finish as a plaster skim

@opps - thanks for the reply if its incredibly soft, is it suitable for ceilings still or would it just drop off, or can you mix to your own consistency ?

Filler with as good a finish as a plaster skim

Hi all, I am about to remove some downlights in my lounge ceiling Additionally, i'm about to have a gas fire removed which will leave a 150mm diameter hole in the wall where the flue exits My plan was to fill each with the correct depth plasterboard and then finish *somehow* Q - Is there a...

    TRVs and PTFE vs Hemp

@JohnD how would i include a drain valve with the Danfoss ? From what I can see from screwfix item 49331, it doesn’t like I can unless I’m mistaken My downstairs rads are fed from upstairs as I have concrete floors so needing to drain down ever would be a slow process

Thanks for the reply @oldbuffer Any thoughts on an alternative TRV please ? I used the Draytons previously and they seemed fine/good but as you described I’ve had a couple recently where the plastic thread has almost disintegrated No biggy but just wanted to see if there was a new kid on the...

    Wiring routes for upstairs lighting

With regard to 1 or 1.5mm wiring for upstairs lighting that is in the loft space, is it ok to span the ~600mm between joists (ie. the shortest route/least cable needed), or does it need to be clipped along the truss/timbers, up to the apex of the loft, along, and then down the closest truss ? I...

Where can i find a bath shower mixer taps with 150mm centres ?

@nitro23456 - thanks for the reply Yeh a mixer bar would be fine and they seem to be 150mm centres too, but all that i can find seem to be wall mounted Now that would be ok providing i can find some straight bath tap legs (i think they are called) but they all appear to be angled, so are...

Where can i find a bath shower mixer taps with 150mm centres ?

Hi all, I'm fitting a sink in the garage to bath the dog The sink is an old stainless steel commercial thing with holes drilled on the deck at 150mm centres I've scoured the usual sites (screwfix, TS etc) looking for a bath shower mixer tap, ideally with separate taps (rather than thermostat)...
