Duel fuel towel rail trips circuit

Hmm. Is that easy to do? (for a DIY dullard). How did the air get in there? It was only installed 3 years ago.

Duel fuel towel rail trips circuit

I thought Id just ask a corollary question: The towel rail is only heating the bottom half of the radiator. I tried turning one of the valves (using pliers, carefully) anticlockwise a full turn, but that doesnt seem to have done anything. Should I continue turning it - another 2 turns or so...

Duel fuel towel rail trips circuit

Thanks guys. This is obviously going beyond my comfort zone. Ill get a plumber in. Is this a minor 2 hour job would you say, or much more? (ie: will they then have to balance the system etc)

Do I need to drain the towel rail before removing the element? I presumed the element wasnt sat in the actual water.

Duel fuel towel rail trips circuit

Hi all Ive got a duel fuel towel rail that was installed 3 years ago. Hardly used. Its just started tripping the upstairs circuit when I turn it on using the switch which is outside the bathroom. (I have a similar duel fuel towel rail in the ensuite - and thats fine.) What could be causing it...

    Slippery paving

Hi guys, I have a paved pathway to the front door, and the rear garden is all paved. In the winter sometimes it gets really deathly slippery! (Ive come a cropper a few times!). This winter Ive decided to do something about it! Can anyone recommend a anti-slip surface or something? I imagine...

Water collecting in duct pipe from extractor fan in bathroom

Hmm, ok, Ive had a closer inspection. I fear what may initially seem like a simple job will spin-off into a much larger job! (quel surprise!) It looks like the original installers gaffer-taped one end to the exit in the roof. (unless they gaffer-taped over a jubilee clip). This in itself...

Water collecting in duct pipe from extractor fan in bathroom

@MJN : Ive measured the length I need (annoyingly its just a bit further than 5 metres, so Ill need a 10 metre length!). I was just about to buy some, but what size would I need? (102mm/127mm etc...)...

Water collecting in duct pipe from extractor fan in bathroom

Thanks @MJN - this is very useful. From memory it is attached using a jubilee clip, Ill need to check. I know what a jubilee clip looks like, but I havent fixed one before. I will probably need about 5m length. Can I cut it to size? (Im sure 'acoustic' will be fine. Whatever I fit will be a...

Turning on extractor fan also turns on a light!?

Hi guys, Ive got a weird electrical issue. The grill works about 30% of the time (sometimes it heats, most of the time it doesnt). An engineer fitted a new element and thats made no difference. After a bit of fiddling, it seems that when I turn the extractor fan on, one of the under cabinet...

    Grill has stopped working

Hi all, The grill in my oven stopped working a few weeks ago. I tried it again yesterday and it started to heat up, but only to a luke warm level. Ive tried it again this morning and it doesnt even warm up. However, the oven heats up fine. Does this mean the element has gone? Or the...

    Sealing a patio

Im looking at a few stone sealers. This one is £100 for 5l https://stonedoctors.co.uk/product/stontex-indian-sandstone-sealer-5l/ compared to this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sandstone-Enhancer-Protector-solution-Azpects/dp/B01GVKZPL6/ref=asc_df_B01GVKZPL6/ which is half that! And yet they...
