Best foundation for a heavy shed?

Not particularly heavy, spread over solid bedded slabs. My shed (below) is clad in Cedral boards at 11.2 kg's per board. That's 470 kilos just for the Cedral boards. Then there's the windows, doors, timber, roof, internal ply boards, floor, fixings, gutter fascia etc.

Do i need battens on top of Cement Fibre board

You would always have a gap behind the cladding. Some products actually require airflow behind (Cedral Cladding) so they need to be open top and bottom.

    Timber Cladding

Just use 25mm. 30mm is nonsense.

Cladding options - Cedral weatherboard or Freefoam?

agree with the others, strip back insulate nice and tight and batten over. the cedral stuff is brilliant and the guy you spoke to doesn't know what he is talking about the cedral stuff won't rot and should last for ever. You may have already looked on the cedral site, the installation pages show...

    Cedral boards over pebbledash

...let air circulate behind cladding to prevent condensation and associated problems, hence I would go without insulation. Just found this which is a lot cheaper http://www.weatherboardsupplies.co.uk/shop/cedral-lap/cedral-lap-boards/ More details here: www.marleyeternit.co.uk/Facades/Cedral.aspx

    Cladding gable ends advice

Thanks Foxhole much appreciated. I've also heard Hardie planks mentioned as a decent option? Any views on them rather than Cedral? Or is the Freeform UPVC decent? Thanks

This is the sample of Fortex (or similar) double plank that my builder gave me: The Cedral looks better on google images.

    Cladding for Front of House

How does the Cedral compare to stuff like this Fortex PVC cladding? https://www.homebuilding.co.uk/sourcebook/product/freefoam-fortex-cladding/ In terms of lifespan, insulation, cost, etc...?

    Cladding for Front of House

You don't paint Cedral, that defeats the whole purpose.

UPVC cladding exterior- what the catch?

You should consider Marley Eternit Cedral Weatherboard, a manmade timber cladding, a hundred times more attractive than upvc and pretty comparable in cost I recall especially if DIYing.
