    Fitting Fascias

I guess the dust from cedral cladding isnt great for you, do you guys wash your trousers every day? I've been keeping work clothes in a separate cupboard to my normal clothes, but when tired just stuck dusty ones back in there.

    Roofing = Hard work!!

Did you forget both? Mines about ready for the cladding, the builder wants to use the double Fortec which I like but I wouldn't mind seeing a few pics of your Cedral :)

Post the best photo you took today

To be honest, I don’t really know. The website just says 'weatherboarding'. http://www.upminsterwindmill.org/

    Cladding for Front of House

You can also use it to do the roof line (fascia, soffit) as I have done. They supply colour coded screws for any face fixings.

New tool time but what to go for?

Jeepers - everything. We are doing a big complicated job presently and are just fitting the Cedral cladding. Used it today to trim off the bottom bit of plastic fascia to allow the top plank of Cedral to sit flush. We absolutely batter it when roofing, when doing roof line (priceless), drainage...

    Fitting Cladding on bay windows?

This poject is really a non-starter really, you can't go fixing through that existing flashing to fix a new flashing as per the Cedral stock detail, you were told to measure the cills a month ago. Fitting cladding onto existing buildings only works if the existing building lends itself to it.

    fibre cement weatherboarding

I've used (or specified and seen installed) the Cedral stuff as a cladding and as soffits, seems fine, looks good, seems fairly easy to use, the contractors didn't complain about the price or fixing it up on site and it hasn't fallen off yet! :D Like everything it needs care and attention when...

Trying to age a 70’s house by building a bay window on the frony

...bar glazing and the front door with fake fanlight and the fake pillars . And the fake shutters . Then consider cladding the top half with cedral cement board ( there is an article on here about it. Ah, the bay- maybe it could be bricked up off a small footing to the underside, it would...

What is this board and can we get it in the UK?

You cant buy those in the UK. The only option is cedral, hardie plank or upvc boarding. If you want a decent shed, build it with studwork, use osb board as sheathing. Then breathable membrane, 50 x 25 battens for air gap, then cladding. That makes a waterproof system and the outside cladding...

    fibre cement weatherboarding

I am looking at using a pre-coloured fibre cement weatherboard (Cedral or Hardiplank) over a layer of Tyvek and Cellotex with battoning in between on a single brick wall which has permeating damp where the hard render has cracked and needs to be covered. Has anyone got any experience of fibre...

    Cheap Cladding for a shed

Usually the cheapest incurs the highest maintenance. Depends on your energy levels and available time, once you have it fitted. I used Marley Cedral - fit and forget...

What have you been doing today?

I'm going to be glazing this.... Cedral by noseall posted 24 Oct 2019 at 9:50 PM ...bastad today. Each piece of glass weighs over 100kg's I believe. I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest. Before you ask - no room for cranes or mechanical lifting. Manpower and suckers only.

    Clad garage construction

Quick question. We're planning to build a double garage. Got PP approved. It will be Cedral clad and roof tiles on the roof. Which is cheaper/easier? Steel frame or timber? I don't really have a preference functionally. Planners only care if it looks like it says on application so they're not...

Hollow soffit board use as cladding

I guess the key thing for me is cost. We are refurbishing to sell on so it just has to look nice rather than really nice. The boards for cedral seem to be £22 ish a length whereas the soffit board I can get for £10 a length. But I’m not sure it’s approved for that use even though previous owners...

    Exterior dormer finish. Permitted development

The Cedral looks infinitely better than the cheap white plastic rubbish you see, adorning many a dormer, especially when you are able to compare with a next door neighbour. There are darker colours available.

    Alternative to 600mm fascia! Shiplap?

Everyone of those glazing studs (x30) had to be drilled through two layers of steel. The ply had to have 30 holes as did the Cedral. That balcony is one of the most Labour intensive things I've ever had to build.

    Cedral or composite cladding

As per Woody regards colour-fastness. Those elevations exposed to the sun will fade and those in shade will get dirty with growth etc.
