Would there be an issue in screwing the collar to the stove from underneath by removing the throat plate temporarily?

The pipe I have is vitreous pipe and has to be cut to size. Do I have to screw the collar in as I'm going to be dealing with due cement anyway?

Wood burning stove collar and pipe installation

I'm installing a wood burning stove and the collar is attached by three screws inside it. The question I have is how can screw the collar in if I'm fitting the stove pipe to the adapter poking out of the closure plate, slipping the collar on to the pipe and then sliding the stove into position...

Removing part of joist for steels to fit

Looking for some advice please. I need to remove a section of joist that is sitting on the padstone of a newly built structural wall in order to fit a steel post. The issue I have is copper pipes that would prevent 4x2 or 6x2 noggins connecting joists either side of the joist to be cut away. The...

Flat roof joist strengthening for roof terrace

Definitely not a hot tub Dazb but I can imagine pots with bamboo, a charcoal bbq and perhaps 8 people when we have a party etc. So U Beams would be overkill then? I might sister the joists just for peace of mind.

Flat roof joist strengthening for roof terrace

Hi Dazb, thanks for your input. So do you think it would be ok to double up with 2 x 6 s. The missus will probably want a couple of planters on there so just want to make certain it's strong enough. I did think about buying a couple of 152 x 89 mm U Beams as belt and braces. What do you think...

Flat roof joist strengthening for roof terrace

Warm roofing and GRP Fibreglassing Single Storey Flat Roof

Thanks for the advice on using 11mm OSB3 on the Celotex. How do I fix the Celotex in position? Can I use a grab adhesive? Also, how is the 11mm OSB3 fixed in position on top of the Celotex. Is it OK to use Knauf loft insulation between the rafters because I've got LED downlights in the bathroom...

Warm roofing and GRP Fibreglassing Single Storey Flat Roof

Would I use 18mm OSB3 tongue and groove above the rafters and above the celotex insulation? Also, as I have downlights in the bathroom, can I use 200mm knauf mineral wall insulation between the rafters instead of celotex and just use the 120mm celotex above the vapour barrier?

    Replacing bathroom downlights

I don't think the downlights fitted are supposed to be used in a bathroom. I'd like to fit IP65 downlights but wanted to know what would be easiest to change over based on what is already there.
