Yes you makes sense, I realised after 3 coats there was no way grains will be covered. This is a part of a wall cabinet, I thought to spray was easier, I wonder if will look better when grains show in the final product?

Hi I am trying to prime bare wood using Rust Oleum spray surface primer. I believe timber is redwood pine. defo not oak, it was previously painted but sanded to bare wood. I applied 3 coats within 10 mins, still wood grains are showing and rough finish, pic below. Is this normal or am I doing...

BTW I spoke to nic in the past, they said any competent person can do an eicr, even with only "domestic installer" registration but report will not have niceic logo, eicr for rental properties ain't a big deal as some ppl make it, but my guy got the lot in his registration.

To add; the EICR report comes with NICEIC logos (not plain as as some do) , also included serial number xxxxxxxx PRSN18.3 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CONDITION REPORT FOR THE RENTED SECTOR.

Update: I got my EICR and paid in full. However, I asked whether he is going to issue an EIC or will I get a notification from NICEIC or LABC, he waffled and asked I have to pay more as wasn't in the original quote and takes 2 hours which I refused. I will report to niceic after 30 days and see...

I applied Rust Oleum surface primer this morning; 2 coats, says to wait 12 hrs before paint, adhesion looks quite good, will enamel tomorrow, there is no rush, will update the result.

Hi I want to apply spray enamel to galvanised steel angle L shaped from SF part No. 880JP. Do I need to spray metal primer first and then the enamel or can do without primer?

I called NICEIC this morning; they said no need for EIC if only CU replaced and there has been no modification or added sockets. But said building reg compliance notification is required, assume from local council, they said to wait for a month, contact them if any issues.

I've been to the property today, my builder said electrician spent 3 hours there only replacing CU and didn't go to other rooms. My previous electrician who did the eicr 5 yrs ago tested all sockets and light fittings, I was present and took him 3 hrs. Has eicr testing methods changed?

I will ask him for EIC, he never mentioned and I didn't know. Cheers
