    Type/Age of Wiring?

How odd there must be miles and miles of imperial cable in Devon with green goo, I've come across loads of it in the past year. Strangely I've never seen green goo on a metric cable!

    Green Goo

Hi Guys, this is my first post. I have recently moved and I think my house is in need of a rewire (grey wiring). I am getting a green substance at some of my sockets/switches. What is taking place? What is the green goo? Finally, is this dangerous? Thanks.

    Thin plasterboard suggestions

Why I want a thin board is because I'm going to double laminate it with "Green Goo". So it will be concrete/green goo/thin board/green goo/thin board. Switch wire. 2 of 3 are live!

We've had goo in some sockets over the years that have been cleaned. Emptying the house for a rewire is not something we will consider unless absolutely necessary.
