    Thanks for all your help!! A combination of the 3/4" tap pillar washer, ptfe tape and plumbers mait have sealed it all. I can now think about sealing the bath! Thanks again

    Thanks for that. Silly question, but I seem to remember the washer being more of a flat washer. Is there a difference (I am sure there is) and does it matter so long as it seals?

    the inside of the nut (the outside of the metal flange) is 44mm Sorry that sounded rude, should the washer not align with the threaded pipe coming from the pipe (so it crushes against it)? or should it sit within the pipe? Thanks
