Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Thanks. By profile you mean cutting a small angled section off the wall profile? I would need to do that to the screen profile(metal hinge section) as well I presume. Just seems a little risky to do that. Yeah, I gathered the smaller screw is for the attach the hinge to the channel and my...

Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Thank you. ONe I dismantled before had 3 screws. But this one's only got two which is a little worrying especially the screws is like 10mm long. The manual says not to drill the face of the screen profile. Does that mean I should just drill the wall profile and then screw through the screen...

Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Also, might now be a while before I can install it. Manual says drill a hole in the wall profile approx 100mm from the top and bottom. However, just noticed the wall profiles already got holes drilled but at about 34mm from the top and bottom. Have contacted seller and manufacturer. Also, the...

Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Sorry, just reread my post and grammar was horrendous. I meant if I was to cut a notch. Then silicone around the notch whilst I put the profile in. Some of it will naturally seal the inside of the screen at that part. I guess I just be careful and try my best to wipe away silicone so it...

Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Thanks I'm hoping thats the case too. The only other is is. Manual says not to silicone inside of the screen. But having the nitch and resiliconing up to would mean I am? I understand not siliconing the inside is so water can escape when water inevitably gets inside the profile. So should I...

Fitting bath/shower screen over siliconed bath.

Hi all, I've siliconed the bath tiles and bath edge already. Decided to go with a shower screen now and to install the wall profile bracket so it can be flush to the wall, is it best to: A) cut the silicone at the point where screen will go and remove all(as much of) the silicone and...

loud noise and pipes vibrating when shower is on

Sorry guys. Still can time it so when it happens, I got enough time to get into the loft to check the ballcock. But I did work out that it is this pipe which vibrates. Does this help indicate anything further or still try and get into to loft and check the ballcock first?

loud noise and pipes vibrating when shower is on

Sorry guys, noise hasn't happened for me yet. Annoyingly happened for my partner but wasn't around to test. Just to double check, ballcock we are talking about is this one (photo) which feeds the cylinder? Forgot to mention, this was actually replaced so it's brand new as the old one had a...

loud noise and pipes vibrating when shower is on

bathroom basin and kitchen. both monobloc mixers. bath filler is quarter turn but seperate feeds (not mono). you mean slow filling of the cylinder I presume? only way to tell is listening? the ballcock valve from header tank to cylinder seems to work fine in terms of isolating

loud noise and pipes vibrating when shower is on

hi all, (this doesnt happen every time so cannot reproduce it but does happen about few times a week but must be a reason I can't work out) 'Sometimes', after turning the shower on and after about 10 seconds, the pipes make a loud foghorn type sound and the cold water pipes around the house...

is this pipe layout ok? (90 elbows after p trap)

this is the problem i have with the drawers if using sweep (assuming the pipes would more angled towards main waste connection). it might clash with the top lip of the bottom drawer and less room for storage as a result. the top drawer has a big cut out so should be ok unless it catched the...

is this pipe layout ok? (90 elbows after p trap)

ultimately, i could do if its absolute must but trying to avoid it as the walls just been tiled and holes screwed for brackets for the vanity

is this pipe layout ok? (90 elbows after p trap)

not much point changing it to 40mm if the pipe in the wall is 32mm? i'll see what the angles are like for the sweep elbows - maybe 92degree but can try 135 degree. only reason i've done the initial pipe section relatively level is to avoid the drawers in the vanity unit

is this pipe layout ok? (90 elbows after p trap)

hi, just wondered if having 2x 90 elbows after the p trap like in the drawing is ok? (red section) trying not having to dig the external wall to raise the existing waste connection pipe in the wall.

Tiling up to or under boxing?

thanks all. I'm building the box first. I was going to replicate what im doing on the other two sides - putting in a support batten on the boxing. silicone when pushing the bath in place. then the tiles on the box would be above the bath like the other walls. I was going to try and follow the...

Tiling up to or under boxing?

I did want to make the top removable so can be used for extra storage but didnt want to risk any seals/waterproofing. when you say work out how to tile around the line up, do you mean the box section above the bath? I was going to replicate what ive done on the other sides of the bath - put...

Tiling up to or under boxing?

Hi all, I'm thinking about making a box frame (tiled finish) at the end of the bath tub. Just wondering if its best to: A) tile the whole wall first, then make the box and tile up to the wall. (so tiles would be running behind/inside the box) or B) do the box first and then the wall tiles up...

is C2TE tile adhesive ok for bathroom?

I rang technical support and they say that this does not have the S1 flex certificate. But he also advises that I do not need flex on a bathroom floor if laying it onto hardiebacker. Any opinions on this please?
