6mm SWR with Data from outside wall into loft space, can it be done physically and to regs?

I have an electrician coming out next week to install an outside mini CU and a run of 6mm SWR (inc Data). The plan 'was' to feed the SWR up the outside wall and into the loft . However, I've just taken a more detailed look and the guttering touches the wall, there is no soffit, and the vent...

    Spalled brick replacement under DPC.

Thank you for that information. I really appreciate it :) I've tried to get these bricks before using brickfinder and other sites without much luck. They're perforated (3 holes), possibly a rustic multi buff / yellow ?. I have found two in decent condition that I can use to replace the...

    Spalled brick replacement under DPC.

Hmmm, I did think that myself. If it had been struck, it would have been last year when a pallet of flooring was delivered and left in the exact same place ! Could it had caused the damage and then a year later, a slight tap has dislodged it? The brick is right on the pathway to the front...

    Spalled brick replacement under DPC.

It's a detached house and I can't find any other bricks on the same course (a few inches from the paths) with potential issues. Great idea about the duck tape ! I'll use that.

    Spalled brick replacement under DPC.

I have a spalled brick just below the DPC on a 20-year-old house. I can’t see any signs of water ingress in that area but have noticed how reddish the rest of the spalled brick is compared to a leftover brick with the face chipped off (inset pic). Possible faulty firing? Regardless, should I...

    Bizarre outside bottle gully problem

Mine is not shared, and the blockage if there is one may be on my property or theirs. So unless I can establish where the issue is I could be landed with the cost.

    Bizarre outside bottle gully problem

I did, and nearly had an heart attack when they said what it would cost. They advised to do all I can to eliminate any blockage on (or under) my property first, then call them. Hence why I've tried to measure the distance and direction. From my kitchen sink to the edge of my property by the main...

    Bizarre outside bottle gully problem

Public Road. The distance between my gully and the property boundary is around 5 metres , I've managed to get a thin rod that far downstream and can find no resistance. From then it is around 3 meters to one of the first round manhole covers which access the sewage. (18 houses in one small...

    I'm unsure where that is.

    Bizarre outside bottle gully problem

THe inside of the gully has been cleaned to the point you could eat your dinner out of it. The outgoing pipework runs for around 3 metres before it joins the main pipework into the road. Rodding suggests it is clear ???

    Bizarre outside bottle gully problem

Kitchen waste to bottle gully, then off to foul / rainwater waste (or whatever its called). It's been in service since the house was built 24 years ago. Over xmas I noticed the water wasn't draining from the sink when the washing machine was emptying (it had done for many years prior), so...

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

I'll get that organised. I'm more curious now as to what is going on.

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

The installer fitted the PRV, so the back of it is against a solid 6 inch brick wall :(

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

This is directly related to the hot supply. The cold supply does have an issue, but it's of my own making. I installed high pressure plain mixer taps in the basin, shower and sink, which all work together fine -even when the hose pipe and cistern are using water. However, the bath has low...

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

To replace the 15mm with 22mm would have required pulling up (or at least cutting a channel in) the subfloor across three rooms. The budget didn't run to that amount of work unfortunately. I can tap into the 15mm cold feed under the airing cupboard floor, blank of one end and connect 22mm from...

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

The installers didn't make those checks. However, Anglia Water took a measurement a few years back (before the unvented tank install) and they said it was just over 3 bar and normal for the area. The cold water pipe is 15mm from the stopcock to the kitchen tap, bathroom tap, and cistern. Then...

Water balance issues since going over to an unvented cylinder

A year back I had a new unvented cylinder installed to replace an old vented one. As you can see from the attached diagram, no balanced cold feed was taken from the back of the PRV. The cold feed that supplies the kitchen and bathroom remains as before, and the fitter took the existing feed to...

Multiple CUs with 25mm and 16mm tails. RCD specs

It feeds an EV charger and the garage. Maximum draw on a high use day would be circa 55amps at most. Average around 32amps.

Multiple CUs with 25mm and 16mm tails. RCD specs

The fuse in the meter box is 100 amp, the RCD in the CU fed by 16mm tails is 80amp. I should add that the other two CUs are fed by 25mm tails and have 63amp RCDs. Hence why I asked. But looking through the posts, its looks nothing to worry about :)
