Apart from the bill (which has no real information on it and looks fake) there is nothing to indicate who may have carried out the modification.

I think that may be the way we will have to go. He will know what was involved and why the boiler was removed / and replaced by a new one in a different location.... and he is CORGI registered.

The flue is still in situ as my parents are not allowed access to that wall (despite it being theirs) as they would have to enter the neighbour's land! There is extensive evidence to support what was done, even though the situation has changed.

We think the flue was modified some time after the shed was built, but we have no idea exactly when as there was no communication / consultation or any indication they were intending to do this, with or without permission. To my uneducated eye it looks very ramshackle and unsafe and I'm glad...

If you know any details of the case it would be useful to quote those to our solicitors who seem unable to deal with the most basic issues without a great deal of hand holding.

The owner of the neighbouring property doesn't actually live there and has never complained about the flue prior to building his shed... The flue was at the very end of their garden and (trespass issues aside) did not protrude excessively or disrupt anyone's life in any obvious way...
