Hi, I was just wondering, why is it called a plug top? I have always called it merely a "plug"???? Just something that occured to me, the plug top is surely the thing that comes off, is it not?? so guys, why???

I am having a discussion with a friend and we were just thinking, can you install ring final circuits, and do they still work in the same way as they did when they first started being used? My friend thinks that they're not allowed under the latest regs. What do the latest regs say??
