Hi and thanks for your help - i solved the problem by adding another electric pump in the engine compartment and it's worked perfectly ever since! Now the clutch has packed up so it's back to the drawing board!

Hi I have just solved a similar problem fitting a renault alternator to a mini digger . The other wire needs to have an ignition live feed to switch the alternator on. It's taken me a week to work it out !

Just in case anyone's still interested i have finally managed to wire the alternator so it charges - what we thought was the warning lamp terminal is in fact just an earth, the warning light is one of the two in the plug. Anyway i just wanted to say thank you all for your help Best regards Antony

I took it off and examined it very closely - The 2 threaded poles are marked L and B , there are no markings on the small plug although one of the terminals is smaller than a standard spade connector. It's not quite the same as the one in the picture from autoshop

I have connected the 2 extra terminals as per the link that stevino kindly provided but still no charge , i'm fairly sure the alternator is a good one - any other ideas ?

yes i think so - it's on the same side of the engine as the one it came from - does the wattage of the warning lamp have any effect ?

I'll find a way even if i have to take it off again ( don't worry i'm getting used to doing that now ! ) I looked at diagram that Spirov? posted and it seems to make perfect sense - provided the terminals are marked accordingly

hi everyone i was wondering if you could help me on this. My xbox 360 scrathes my discs and makes them un-readable and the other problem is that my Gears of War game has no scratches on it but doesn't work

I'm not sure how they are marked and i'll need to remove it again to see due to the fact it's down the back of the engine and totally hidden ! Fortunately i also have the wiring loom from the renault so i have the plug too !

Thank you all for your help so far - Having connected up as i described before i now have ignition light but it won't go out and there's no charging - i'll connect the other two terminals tomorrow and hopefully it will all work correctly.
