Yes exactly. I replaced this outlet with the one from the dishwasher, cleaned up the cables but the washing machine didnt work....

i stuck a plug on it and now the washing machine is washing. so i suppose that there is a problem with the circuit back to the mcb somewhere? if so is there anyway i could check this? thanks for help!!

i did this this afternoon and it made a difference for a bit but after a while went back to tepid. at one point even running cold. does that mean it's not the taps?

hi i was wondering whether there could be something wrong with the mixer tap itself? reason is the hot water has worked in the past about a month ago there is intermittent hot water coming out of the tap when just the hot water tap is on there is good water pressure what do you think?

Thanks Will go the batten route as can't move nearer joist. Didn't think that i'd have to fill the hole i make back due to fire precautions. Do i need to use plasterboard or is there any other material i can use? don't want to buy a big bit of plasterboard just for this job. Cheers...
