Flat roof - add another layer of felt?

Sorry mate, long story but ladders are buried under a ton of crap right now so can't get up on the roof easily to get pics. I was just after thoughts on the approach of torching down another layer on top of a felt roof that is edging towards the end of its zero/low maintenance lifespan (the ten...

Flat roof - add another layer of felt?

Yeah okay as in not leaking but seams verging on questionable.

Flat roof - add another layer of felt?

My roof is 10 years old, 3 layer felt system. Roofer advised during inspection that it is still "okay" but could do with an extra layer of green mineral torched down on top of what is already there, along with new "drips" (the bits around the edges). Just wanted people's opinions on the...

Drying out after burst pipe - condensation on DPM

Ah, so moisture underneath isn't "bad" so to speak? I didn't realise concrete was porous! Walls are brieze block, shingle on outside, dpm, insulated (wool) and plasterboard on inside.

Drying out after burst pipe - condensation on DPM

No dpm under concrete as far as I know. Floor was concrete originally. Renovators added DPM, joists and chipboard floor. Air bricks are at shin and head height.

Drying out after burst pipe - condensation on DPM

The day after I stopped to "relax" for Xmas , our converted outhouse/office water pipe burst  Thus, xmas was a chaos of ripping up the flooring and borrowing heaters and dehumidifers and running to and fro to the tip. The chipboard floor was sodden, and the mineral wool insulation...

Flat roof inspection - how much should I expect to pay?

A guy is coming out to check my flat (felt) house roof soon. Just wanted to check what the normal range is in terms of cost (so I don't get ripped off!) - can anyone advise? It's a mid-terrace cottage in Falkirk, Scotland, total roof area roughly 70m sq Cheers G

Hand sanitizer stains on white laminated MDF surface

Hope this is the right forum. I've noticed these stains on our hallway shoe cupboard - MDF (I think) with a laminated white surface. I think it's a squirt of hand gel that's caused it. Any recommendations as to how to get the stain out gracefully? (Had a similar situation with other...

Sliding robe doors mounted on a gloss plank

Aye? I wondered about that, but the bits at the top don't seem to be designed for hanging. Here's the wooden doors (I have two of these, fairly light)...

Sliding robe doors mounted on a gloss plank

Hi, I've installed sliding robes into our bedroom. I put down a half inch thick plank of wood for the bottom rail to sit on, and painted this white (gloss) to go with the rest of the woodwork in the room. Looks great and the doors sit nicely, but when I roll the doors back and forth I get a...

Exterior paint colour match for facing boards?

Hi, I need to repaint my facing boards. They are currently the same colour (really dark brown) as my gutters and I want to paint them this same colour again. However, B & Q and Homebase don't do colour matching on exterior paints. Can anyone recommend a supplier who does? Cheers...
