Hi I need to change the gate valve that feeds my hot water tank on the first floor the only problem is there is no cut off valve in the attic and cannot drain the water supply tank do I need to buy a freeze kit or is ther another way to do it Thanks

Thanks for reply's the handle is ok I will just have to use some nails to nail it shut as its on the first floor and don't have access to ladders there is another window in the room so use that if fresh air .

Thanks everyone who replied I have got it sorted now .I cut the drain of using secetures after I cut it off I went to the shop to get a new one saying to my wife don't use the sink.When I returned home the kitchen was flooded she had used the dishwasher! :(
