    Gainsborough 1000

Hello Have just been informed she had replaced the hose and head which now opens up another set of questions... Being electric shower, should they have a certain type of hose and head, i.e.. A minimum diameter hose leading to the head etc. She's bought a £20 hose and head, would this be a...

    Gainsborough 1000

That was my thought.... No reduction in flow of water what so ever (as I am told) friend was having a shower and she just said 'all of a sudden, hot scalding water started flowing through' she put the dial on cold but still hot scalding water... Any other reason why this would happen?

Got a Gaingsborough 1000 (pre 2004 model) and all of a sudden just had scalding hot water from the shower head... Would this be the thermo cut out switch which has broken, can this been replaced or new shower fitted? Thanks

    Chrome pipe

Believe it or not... It's for the hand basin... even thought the pipe will be hidden behind the pedestal, he still insists having chrome pipe for the 'aesthetical' (If that’s a word) look.... I just shake my head at times....

    Chrome pipe

I don't want to over tighten it and have not used any jointing compound... Would Jet Blue be an option?? I will have to have a closer inspection of pipe to see if there are any nicks in it

    Chrome pipe

Hi Thanks for the prompt reply... I never use PTFE tape when using copper pipe but as I've no experience with chrome pipe and the slight dampness I'm getting, it was just an option to explore. The pipe will not be visible so will probably file the chrome off and put a solder elbow instead...

Thanks, the main issue I was asking whether I could just add a strap on boss to the soil stack without drilling a bigger hole because the stack is difficult to get to...... Currently the waste is 28mm copper pipe, which enters the stack via a compression fitting... Thanks :)

    Copper waste to soil stack

Hello, I'm fitting a bath and it appears it has 28mm copper waste pipe from the Cast Iron bath with a compression fitting to the plastic soil stack. What are the options of adding a strap on boss so I can fit 40mm waste pipe, is it a simple straight forward swap... the soil stack is awkward...
