OK answered my own question even though manual is written by a very illogical mind or by someone trying to work up some black magic. The program I used works perfectly and should help many others as the logic and wording seems to fool many people who aren't in the know.

I believe its time for a new new panel :| Seems that I could pick one up for £40 with keypad (Accenta Mini G4). Is this the way to go due to commonality reasons of wiring etc. or should I go for something else?
