used X400 and X800 but still no joy to get 2 rads going

Yeh BG said it could be blocked at the manifold which would be under the wooden floor upstairs, also said there could be 2 manifolds so if the floor had to come up it then gets really messy and expensive. If it was tricking through the pipe then surely some of the rad would be getting hot...

used X400 and X800 but still no joy to get 2 rads going

10mm microbore all sealed in the wall, only bit you can see is the 2-3" that comes out of the wall, guessing that the I/D on the microbore is only around 8mm so no big surprise that it's blocked with such a small inside diameter. Your nigh on impossible does not fill me with confidence TBH...

used X400 and X800 but still no joy to get 2 rads going

So I close the one side with the lock shield and the other by keeping the TRV on and screwing to the closed position, remove the rad open the lock shield and if the water pi$$es out the its not that side, but if the right where I think the problem is I turn the TRV and if the water just trickles...

Hi alan333, Yeh as I said BG installed a more powerfull brand new pump than what I had 4 weeks ago, and still no heat getting to those 2 rads, new pump is set to max to try and get any blockage free with the other rads turned to off to get max flow to affected rads.

used X400 and X800 but still no joy to get 2 rads going

Hi Gigz, Thanks for the advice, when you say bucket test do you mean leave the heating running with the pump pushing water around the system and then slacken off the right hand side of the rad that is not getting hot and see if the water comes out ? Or is this completely wrong ? I had a...

yep done the balancing months ago before I started with all the X800 + X400 also had BG install a new more powerfull pump before they said no more unless I pay for a power flush. As I'm typing this now I've closed the good rads to as you said encourage flow to the 2 not working, I've done...

Bristish gas fitted new rad valve can this be shut off ?

turned the other rads off except the 2 not working but then the boiler overheats trips/cuts out, assuming there is nowhere for the hot water to go as these 2 rads are fully open so there must be sludge blocking the flow ... On both non working rads when I feel the pipe that comes out of the...

Bristish gas fitted new rad valve can this be shut off ?

yeh sorted with a spanner, thanks all for your help guys He said that for 850 they would defo get the 2 rads that are not getting hot working, and if they couldn't that they would replace the manifold that would be under wood flooring that would have to be taken up and replaced upstairs, so...

Bristish gas fitted new rad valve can this be shut off ?

Rad was not heating up prior to valve change, on the old valve there is a flat part at the top and if I turn this with a spanner this stops the flow into the rad... But on the new one fitted today I remove the pozi screw and then the stem that sticks up is nothing like the previous one...

Hi All, The lock shield was leaking on my rad and was not heating up, had BG out today and he replaced it, can the new one BG installed still be turned off like the old ones ? or have they gone cheap on me and I'm unable to turn it off ? the new one has a screw on the top of the...

    advice on fitting magnaclean pls

Cheers for confirming that the flow runs down from the pump, after doing some shopping it appears that the 22dia is a lot more common and cheaper than the 28mm diameter mb3 filter If I was to get the 22mm mb3 and install in the same pipe below the Myson what's the worst that could happen ...

    advice on fitting magnaclean pls

worked out that the pipe diameter just below the pump is 28mm, so I'm going to order the Spirotech MB3 28mm as the video looks pretty straight forward to fit... It says on the installation video that that it must be installed with the arrow following the flow direction, am I correct in saying...

    advice on fitting magnaclean pls

looks like the MB3 will fit and the Magnaclean pro2 if I cut the shelf, what would the dia be of that pipe that I need to fit it too just below the pump as it's definitely a larger diameter pipe than the one below the Myson, just don't want to get one drain and then cut the pipe and it doesn't...

    advice on fitting magnaclean pls

The pipe under the pump is 7" looking at the installation this would not be enough as it says to cut 195mm out in order to fit the filter This is why I wanted to place under the Myson in the same length of pipe as it's long enough, but based on what you said this is a No No ?

    advice on fitting magnaclean pls

If you extend the pink square down, on that same pipe is the Myson unit, can I install just below that Myson unit as there is a long length of pipe below the Myson and would be the easiest place to install ?
