Slow leaking Push Button Toilet Problem?

Hate Torbecks for this reason. They seem to resist all attempts at repairing them. Sometimes they don't shut off even when new.

    Toilet fitting

Yes. Unless you are very clumsy and built like a gorilla, the risk of splitting the plastic soil pipe is virtually non-existent.

    Toilet fitting

Only going to be of use if your soil pipe is at 90 dgrees to the pan though.

    Toilet fitting

So you're saying the soil pipe that the toilet connects to is plastic? A sharp wood saw will do then. If you manage to crack it in the process you should leave the diy to the missus!

    Leak in towel radiator

Have seen this before on one of these. Taking it back is the only option.

    New Radiator

Think you mean studded, not studding. Yes you can. advisable to screw the brackets to the timber supports though.

Not that difficult to cut. Depends if you want your new toilet half way out into the room or not.

    britsh gas f'''ers!!

And what's more to the point she then goes on to say: It is interesting that employees who come on here defending the company don't seem to be able to justify this kind of thing. They are figures plucked out of the air surely with the hope that some gullible types will sign on the dotted...

    Joining British Gas Homecare

Thanks. The Homecare contract seems a good deal and I personally would consider it but boiler is still under warranty. Will make sure system water is as clean as filtered Evian if I ask for quote.

    Joining British Gas Homecare

That's fair enough. But it's still not clear whether the powerflush IS a pre-condition of Homecare or not? Or only in certain cases? And if so,which ones?

    Joining British Gas Homecare

Leaving personal issues aside for a moment, why is it then that BG want 600 stripes nearly for a powerflush, yet independents can do it for half that? Do they use better chemicals?

    Joining British Gas Homecare

Well,it's no wonder there are so many people reporting bad experiences with BG if their staff are as smug and offensive as certain people posting here. Can't see that it's a good advert for the company at all.

Ideal Standard E-Type CF boiler-parts still available?

This old floorstanding open flued beast is still going strong in my parents house 35 years after it was installed needing just a new thermocouple every few years. It is supplying a primatic cylinder (so no inhibitor in system)and the radiators are as old as the boiler. I can't remember it...

    Disaster post bleed

Just do what Dextrous said. You don't need to cut any pipes yet. Attach a hose to an outside tap or any mains cold water pipe and the other end to a drain off or to a rad valve- you can use a 3/4" Hozelock fitting for this -it will fit onto 3/4" lockshield rad valves if you drain a...

    Boiler won't switch off

I seem to have found the solution! Turn off power at second spur and boiler works fine (as previously ) but with the added bonus that it will now switch on and off using the fascia button! Too many lives then and I obviously don't fully understand all the principles of central...
