    Roca toilet...intermittent failure to flush

Allowing for the differing image sizes, the Torbeck does not look much like the Roca valve. Could that give any problem?

    Roca toilet...intermittent failure to flush

In the Spring of 2008 we had a Roca toilet with dual flush and soft close seat installed, that has worked well until recently A few weeks ago we went away for about four days. On our return we flushed it once, but on the toilet's second use the flush failed: the cistern had had not filled. We...

Brilliant Innovation Gas Fire and batteries

@Agile. Actuallly our boiler got plenty of attention, both servicing and call outs. We shot it after 6+ years. As I said the fire had very light use. Yes perhaps we were remiss though, and stand corrected

Brilliant Innovation Gas Fire and batteries

Thanks for the helpful comments :). In general it makes me, at least, think that before purchasing any appliance, it would be a good idea to ask about things like parts' costs.

Brilliant Innovation Gas Fire and batteries

I'm glad you said 'supposed', as I doubt it's had a quarter of 2000. Your worrying me with 'really expensive'. How really? :?:

Brilliant Innovation Gas Fire and batteries

Not sure where to put this, but no doubt mods will move if necessary. Our fire was bought early in 2005 and has had light use. Recently the remote seems to transmit its signal and the flame appears for a very short time. It then goes out with a bleep. Do you think it may be the battery...

Which make of gas fire has the best reputation?

MY son has to replace his pseudo-coals fire, that has been condemned. His choices of makes, he tells me, are Flavel, Magicoal and Brilliant. Are there any observations from members on the makes' reputations for reliability and efficiency? Thanks for any comments forthcoming. :)

    How easy to match?

How easy or not is it to match the style and dimensions of internal Georgian bars of a failed unit with those currently available? Does anyone know useful web links? Thanks :)

    Double Glazing Repair estimates.

I see where big-all is coming from, but what if the warranty is insurance based? Also take the point about local reputation, but unfortunately do not know anyone who has needed repairs. So if anyone on DIYDoc has a recommendation in the Bournemouth postcode area, I'll will welcome it. :)

    Double Glazing Repair estimates.

Ah well :( it seems I'm on my own, unless anyone at least knows some firm in my area (BH postcode) they can recommend someone

    Double Glazing Repair estimates.

5 of my units of various sizes in the main house and conservatory have misted window panes, internally. I have emailed locally and have received estimates ranging from £185 with 10 year warranty to £290 with 5 year warranty. Superficially they all seem to offer the same service, remove old...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

I posted that at 9:03 am, but since then have had quests and believe or not my broadband was down for some time, so have been unable to look in. Sorry, but I cannot see how the intervening posts are connected with the flow rate that Agile asked for. If I am dim, sorry, but simply does the...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Got round to it just now and it works at around 7.2 l/min, hot tap full on, but naturally no hot water.

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

For clarification the situation changed yesterday to no hot water as per my recent post. It was another poster who suggested it was the heat exchanger.

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

If anything worse at the bath (located immediately above the boiler down in the kitchen), but it was not particularly good even down there. However at the moment that has become academic, as even at a modest trickle we cannot get HW. The temp indicator rises quickly to 70and then the gasgoes...
