Roca toilet...intermittent failure to flush

In the Spring of 2008 we had a Roca toilet with dual flush and soft close seat installed, that has worked well until recently

A few weeks ago we went away for about four days. On our return we flushed it once, but on the toilet's second use the flush failed: the cistern had had not filled. We arranged for a handy relative to come round, but before he did a couple of days later, the fault self-rectified.

Since then we have had more random incidences of the problem, that have lasted from a matter of hours to a few days.

We had wondered if it was to to with our hard water, but would like opinion as to other probable causes, with advice how to cure the nuisance. Please!

Treat your loo to a new fill valve - such as the bottom entry Torbeck. Quiet, reliable and a simple washer change. It isn't particularly affected by hard water either.

Allowing for the differing image sizes, the Torbeck does not look much like the Roca valve. Could that give any problem?

Not a bit, you can fit whatever type you like...I use the Torbeck because its small, quiet and reliable and you can get the washer anywhere. Only my opinion though!
