Answered my own question tbh.
I got some 1mm 3 core flex which is rated up to 2400w. Taking into account the heat mat in question pulls a max load of 840w, the 1mm flex is more than enough to use.
Thanks for the input tho guys, much appreciated.
Hi everyone.
Had the task today to lay electric underfloor heating.
I used a 12sq/m roll and a smaller 6sq/m roll. The 6sq/m roll cold tails need extending by around 4m to reach the smart thermostat.
The recommended cable that I should use in the installation manual is 2.5mm flex. I've got...
Thanks Wayners for your experience you had with these tiles.
2 grand, 18 years ago! Wow. Dread to think of the cost now.
I know it's not mega cheap, we do still have radiators in the lounge downstairs so the plan for the UF heating was to use it just as supplementary heating.
Cheers mate.
Hi everyone
As the title suggests, I'm renovating our downstairs through lounge and the concrete floor has 9 inch vinyl tiles with the bitumen adhesive underneath. (1950s house)
Had both the tile and adhesive tested and they both contain chrysotile.
I want to install underfloor electric...
Morning everyone,
I've got to replace the plate heat exchanger on the above boiler but the problem I have is that the central heating return and flow pipes go up at the back of the boiler to the first floor, then all of the pipes drop down to downstairs as we have a solid floor downstairs.
The...
Hi everyone
I'm currently completely stripping off through lounge down to the brick and also pulled down the old ceiling as it was all in poor condition.
I've already started dot and dabbing on the other side of the room and I'm yet to get to this conundrum.
How would you dot and dab around...
Hi guys
We're getting a replacement roof in the next few weeks. I replaced the external soil stack for new PVC around 5 years ago and this vents through the roof. (See pic)
Would this be a good opportunity to reroute the soil stack with an offset around the new gutters and soffits I'm also...
Hi flameport
Would this not show when metering the transformer? It's not indicating any shorts.
I've tried to tell him but his argument is that it's quite a good "industrial" oven with what seems like good build quality. He says he doesn't want a new one as the quality of them is poor when...
Hi guys
Posting this problem on behalf of my father in law.
He's had the above microwave for some time now and he loves it. Couple of weeks ago he said there was a burning smell from it and it now does not heat up.
We've replaced the burnt out magnetron, also replaced the capacitor (after...
Hi crank39
These are the hinges I'm hoping to replace. Which is the correct process for removing them? Grub screw first then knock out hinge pin?
Thanks in advance.
Hi crank39
Thanks for the reply.
Yea, I'm quite handy with a drill so shouldn't be a problem. Are UPVC door thicknesses pretty standard? I've watched a couple of YouTube vids and nothing was mentioned about the door and seal thickness?
I guess we'll soon find out.
Cheers mate.
