    Speed awareness course?

Just remembered. You get a choice of dates (well in my neck of the woods you do). You have 7 days to reply, but you will have weeks before you actually go. Probably time to get that licence renewed.

    Speed awareness course?

It depends on many things. Your speed, if there are any courses available in your area at the time, which way the wind is blowing. . . Also, you can only attend one course in any three year period, and you must be invited, you can't apply. I was invited to more than one (like I said...

    Speed awareness course?

I'm not going to lie. I have, on occasion, over the last 29 years, slightly exceeded the posted mandatory maximum speed limit. I'm not proud, but in my defence, it was *rarely* in a 30, always A roads and motorways.

How to remove flue pipe from back of gas stove?

What did I say? It was just a fun way of saying something other than 'bump'. Just to be clear, if my original post wasn't: I'd like to remove the pipe that comes out of the back of a gas stove from the stove. Its the 5" pipe that normally goes up the chimney, but in this case isn't...

    Speed awareness course?

I did the course. It was £60, the same as the fine. It was very interesting, and I enjoyed it. For the record, I was doing 33 in a 30. I'm not saying how many times I drove through the same camera that week  First speeding offence in 25 years.

    Can this be done?

Why would you want central heating? Average temperatures in the Bahamas range from 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (27 to 32 degrees Celsius) in the summer to 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to 27 degrees Celsius) in the winter.

How to remove flue pipe from back of gas stove?

Is it some kind of secret dark magic?

How to remove flue pipe from back of gas stove?

I'm not removing the appliance. It has already been removed, I just want to take off the flue pipe off the back, as a different one is being fitted before installation.

How to remove flue pipe from back of gas stove?

I'm getting as much ready as I can for the fitter who is coming to fit a second hand fire for me. The pipe needs to be removed from the back. There are no screws or anything, so I'm assuming its just held in by sealant. Do I have to heat up the flange to soften the sealant? This...

New Fire, Flue / Chimney liner Question.

By the way, just wondering.. Can the new liner be attached to the old one, and pulled down (or up) the chimney for easy fitting? Do gas fitters do this, or is it a specialised job? Chimney is straight and short. House is a bit like a bungalow, so there is nothing above the room where the...

New Fire, Flue / Chimney liner Question.

Thanks for the replies. It seems I will have to have a new, larger liner fitted. The real live engineer is highly recommended, fully qualified and gas safe! He removed old fire but hasn't seen new one yet. I'm prepared for his 'you need a new flue' routine now, thanks.

New Fire, Flue / Chimney liner Question.

I'm not exactly sure which is the Flue, so please don't laugh. I'm having a Stove style gas fire fitted. The big pipe that comes out the back and goes up is 135mm Dia. (Is this the flue?). The shiny flexible pipe that comes down the chimney (is this the flue, or is it the chimney liner?) is...

    Fitting new Shower Tray

Thanks for that great reply. The tray that I've taken out was already boxed in. The cubicle is quite a bit wider than the tray, so it had a wooden frame that was tiled. I see no other option, other than knocking walls down. A 760 tray would be a very tight fit, so I thought if its boxed...

    Fitting new Shower Tray

I have removed an old kinackered shower tray. It measures 740 x 740mm. Having read a few old threads, I can assure you that it is 740mm. The available space measures 760 x 760mm. Not being able to find a 740mm shower tray, I thought I'd fit a 760mm. Found one on eBay but its states that "Overall...

Henry Vacuum - Whats this part called?

Excellent thanks, just ordered one. I'd actually found that pdf but it was smaller and wouldn't zoom in, so I couldn't see clearly.

Henry Vacuum - Whats this part called?

I need to order a part for Henry, and don't know what it's called. It's the round bit that the hose screws onto. It's his nose, and inside the bag holder thing clips onto it. It's round and red. The model number is HVR200-22. Also, feel free to recommend a seller of parts. Cheers.

Washer / Drier tripping house electrics

We got a new Hotpoint washer drier a couple of years ago. After a few months it started tripping the house electrics when it went into drier mode. We could reset the trip switch and it would carry on drying. It may have got worse, or we ('she') just stopped using the drier part. Today however...

Glow Worm Revival Gas Fire 'Coal' replacement.

I have a Glow Worm Revival gas fire and have been told that it is dangerous due to the fake coal being broken. It's snapped into a couple of pieces. Is this true and where the heck can I find a replacement? Also, what's it called? The best I can find is 'fuel effect' and that was £99. Surely it...

Very Low Sound with new Blu Ray Player.

Funny enough it's Missions I need to replace. I spent 2k on an Arcam CD and amp, and Mission 753's, and now just have a working CD player. Money is much tighter now, but I'm hoping to come close to the quality and power, in stereo. As I said, I'm not too fussed with the TV sound. Maybe I...

Very Low Sound with new Blu Ray Player.

I've spent ages going through menu's, trying different settings etc. I've come to the conclusion that it's a combination of blu ray audio and poor TV speakers/amplification. Still.. previous DVD was fine. :?: Weird
