    repairing bropken solder joint

    Whilst doing a bit of work in the airing cupboard, I've rattled one of the pipes too much and now an old soldering tee joint is weeping a bit. Does anyone have any advice for repairing the joint without taken it out. I've got solder and flux to hand. Thanks in advance. CIB

    .....copper pipes outside not ok? Surely outside copper pipes are everywhere. Water doesn't make copper corode, pipes are full of it. Seriuosly, is there a problem here? CIB

    boiler lights with a bang

    9 times out of 10, the boiler (Halstead Hero60) lights smoothly after a couple of seconds ticking. However, occasionally, it takes longer to ignite, and does so with a bit of a bang. probably not correct! Any ideas what the fault might be? CIB

    Recommendations For Underfloor Heating

    I installed Electric underfloor heating in my kitchen (as well as a radiator) I would imagine 800Watts would heat an average bathroom. It was easy to install under tiles...I just grouted over it! Chris

    Air admittance valve

    The air admittance valve needds to be higher than any thing else attached to the soil pipe. Foe instance, if you have a hand basin also attached to the soil pipe, the valve needs to be higher than the overflow of the hand basin. Hope this makes sense Cib
