    Garage Lighting question

Again, thanks for the reply. You are right. When I said neutral I meant it by the colour of the wire. In technical terms it's the switched live from the rose as you say. Sorry for the confusion here. I'm still trying to figure out your diagram and explanation. But would my understanding also...

    Garage Lighting question

again, thanks for the resonse guys. this is how I understand it. if it was 3 core and earth being used: 3 cables at the rose loop in, loop out, switch. Garage Lighting question

Thanks for the response guys. Its become much clearer now. The wiring is the same as 3-core and earth (at the switch) only the live and neutral come from the rose to each switch, with COM coming from the cable running between switch to switch with a redunant core.

    Garage Lighting question

Thanks for the response. That does make sense but I cannot work out why there is 4 wires coming out the ceiling. My guess is that there are 2 switch wires and 2 for the loop. By your explanation i'm guessing that because he didn't use 3-core and earth, the only way to get live and netural...

    Lighting regulations question

Taylortwocities, many thanks for your response. Diagrams are very useful. I take it from looking at the digrams that if there are 2 extorior lights that need to work off the same switch, that there would be 2 cables coming out of the switch to feed each light. Therefore to confirm my...

    Lighting regulations question

Thanks for the response guys. The issue I have is that the switch wire would be chased up the wall into the smallest bedroom (uder the floor boards). If I site a jb there and take this switch live outside, then once carpeted the jb will no longer be accessible. Chris, How can this be done at...
