Fitting a window over a door

Our hallway is not well lit & i want to put a 350X850mm glass panel above a door to let light in. The wall is brick & although it's a bungalow the wall goes up into the loft where it tapers off & acts as an intermediary support for a roofing timber. What's the best way to cut out the hole...

    Bathroom Heat & light fitting

yes there is a pull cord switch on the unit itself, 3 settings for heat, light or both. However if the unit is not connected to the lighting circuit it won't operate from the pull cord by the bathroom door & you would need to walk to the centre of the room to put on the light.

    colourwash for slabs?

The slabs outside our patio door are old weathered dirty grey & some with large gaps between them, they were laid long ago by some incompetent DIY'er We've scraped out all the weeds & filled the gaps with mortar mix so that alone has made a huge difference but we wonder if it's possible to...

can't get new radiator to work

I've had a look & done a rough sketch, I think I now grasp what my error was, piping after the pump is being pushed whereas piping before the pump is being pulled hence the hot flow pipe pulling water out of my radiator instead of pushing it in my radiator . The junction which feeds off to the 2...

can't get new radiator to work

The flow to the rad is just above the boiler as shown in the picture, the pump is in the loft, it's a Myson Marathon boiler, the pipes go down & then 1.5 mtrs to the left & thru the wall to the radiator, is this because it's too near the boiler? Edit: after draining & refilling the rad I...

can't get new radiator to work

Yes, everything is as it should be, no air in the rad. I'm wondering if it's because it's connected too near the boiler?
